Why keep up the speculation?

To keep the left/socialists off their game. Don't let your enemy know what you are planing.

As far as our own troops?

Bunker hill.

Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes.

How about focusing on the candidates who can actually beat Obama?

Very stupid strategy, as we actually have ZERO idea who the GOP nominee will be running against. Remember the word "assume" -- makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me." Assumptions are risky things.

As long as we focus on electing a candidate on the basis of who he/she is running against, we're allowing the enemy to establish both the battlefield and the terms.

How about focusing on the candidates who can rally America to stand up and fight for limited government and rejection of liberalism? How about focusing on WINNING, instead of playing "not to lose"?

I hope and pray that Palin gets in the race, and I believe that if she does, she will win big and the term "Palin Democrats" will become part of the political lexicon in a good way.

Poll: Perry Leads Romney by 7 Points

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2779939/posts

From the poll results statement:

“Sarah Palin receives her highest unfavorable rating (62%) in this poll since CBS News began asking about her in 2008. And for the first time, more Republicans now view her unfavorably than favorably.”

On page 4-5 of the poll:

View of Palin:

Among all registered voters: 20% fav, 62% unfav
Among Republican voters: 36% fave, 39% unfav
Among tea party: 44% fav, 32% unfav.

Every time you post this, I smile. Thank you.

You're not the only one! :^) Some people complain about it ... I say if that's all they've got to complain about, they need to get out more and smell the roses; ASA Vet's perennial post is one of the roses.

I am way on board with this article.

I honestly believe that buying into the Perry Romney BS will lead us to ruin, and we will not find the sort of recovery from the Obamination and the Oblidiot that this Nation deserves.

We need to have the courage of our convictions and elect REAL conservatives. Perry and Romney are RINOS with capital “R's”. No no no. People love Marco Rubio, but his dad wasn't a Naturalized citizen when he was born any more than Oblidiot’s dad was. I refuse to vote for him, I can't I took a principled stand and I will stick to it.

No, there are only two candidates I like right now with few, if any, philosophical reservations: Sarah Palin and Herman Cain.

Love it or hate it, these two are principled serious leaders in their own lives and experiences. They make the right decisions to achieve their goals. Their goals do not always mean their own personal best interests, but the best interest of the goal. For Cain, that meant making tough choices which made the businesses he was running profitable again. For Sarah, when ethics complaints were taking up a vast majority of her Staff's time - which should have been going to running the state, not researching emails etc on bogus ethics complaints, and costing millions to the taxpayers of Alaska, she took herself out of range and eliminated a threat to the people of her state. That threat wasn't Sarah Palin, the threat was a bunch of liberal bloggers with time on their hands and professional help in popping out 20 ethics complaints a day. The only solution was what she chose, to resign. It was the RIGHT choice. So anyone saying she is a quitter is either a liar, or doesn't have a clue about what was going on and why.

These are two people who are capable of making tough choices ON PRINCIPLES they not only believe in, but live by and do not compromise on - even when it hurts.

We know they hold our principles. We know they will make tough choices based on principles we fundamentally agree with. Any other questions? Seriously, forget who the MSM is backing, forget who has the most establishment money in the bank. Its time to have the courage of our convictions. Palin and Cain both are cut from the same cloth we are. What else do we need to know?

I too believe that Sarah will be running. And it will transform EVERYTHING. WOO HOO!

Agreed with the exception that RINOS ARE the enemy!

Otherwise DC/national politics is the same old, same old.

That is why she WILL NOT run. Too bad that her supporters don’t see that.

At this point in the game, more than a month before the official starting bell, WHY is it so important?

And why are you so emotionally invested in this that you can't tell the truth, which is that it's your opinion that she won't run, but in stead have to shout your opinion as if it was fact, as if it was something you knew for sure, when it's quite obviously something NO ONE but Palin knows for sure? Your speculation isn't any more qualified than mine or anyone else's; the difference is, I KNOW it and you pretend otherwise. It makes you less credible, IMO.

Again, WHY do you think it's so important to convince people that your opinion isn't wrong, before the race has even started? I could see it once all the filing deadlines had passed, I really could. But I am mystified -- AT THIS POINT IN TIME, why do you think it's so important that "her supporters don't see it"? Five months from now, whether she declares or not, what possible difference do you think it will it have made?

I said that about John McCain during the primaries last time. But of course I voted for him rather than Obama.

I am sorry to hear that your principles are so easily swayed by the illusion of expediency.

I am hoping we can count on you to vote for the Republican in the general election, regardless of who he/she is.

Wadderya, stupid? It is EXACTLY "regardless of who he/she is" that is the problem! The 'lesser of two evils' plan still does, and always will extend evil.

Anyone considering themselves to be even somewhat conservative has to agree that the best course for America is ABO -- Anyone But Obama.

Yes, that's always the dilemma, isn't it? When in the past thirty years HASN'T it been "OMG!!! We have to vote for ANYONE but [Insert current boogeyman here]!"

Liberalism advances not by it's own veracity, nor by it's efficacy. It advances because there is no opposition to it - The enemy in the field is not as dangerous as the enemy within the gates. When one votes for someone who is not an all-around Conservative, one will advance liberalism to some degree instead. To expect to win with such a philosophy is foolishness, because even if one wins, it is a Pyrrhic victory, every time.

If the Republicans want to win so badly, then give Conservatives someone to vote *FOR*.

“At this point in the game, more than a month before the official starting bell, WHY is it so important? ‘

Official starting bell?!

Please give reference where is an “official starting bell” stated for presidential campaigns?

I guess all the other candidates just like to waste money, all getting in before “the official starting bell”.

Palin supporters are so emotionally invested, it seems they are getting more and more detached from reality.

I see a different role for LtCol. West but I can certainly understand your choice. Those two would make a fine team IMO.

Well done.

The detractors are going to castigate, complain about this or that, but who cares what they think? They were not going to support Sarah anyway.

We will simply fill the Palin bandwagon with 10 for every 1 of them.

Thank you for the great reply.

I believe that we have an historic opportunity to advance the conservative cause in 2012 and that we should take full advantage of it. Reagan and the Republicans had their huge victory in 1980 in large part because of the awfulness of the Carter Administration. The people were ready for a change and it produced two presidential landslides for the GOP.

My only regret was that the Democrats still controlled the Congress for the most part. Imagine what Reagan could have achieved with Republican control of both Houses!

Well that opportunity is ours for the taking in 2012 if we stick with Tea Party conservatism. I do not think even Freepers understand how huge our victory was in the 2010 congressional elections. We basically stopped Obama's agenda in its tracks. However, in order to reverse it, we will need more than to just put a Mitt Romney or Rick Perry in the White House. We will need a true Tea Party conservative in the White House with Tea Party control of the Senate and House. Otherwise the Congressional Democrats will keep us in checkmate just like we are holding them in checkmate right now.

The 9th District in New York takeover of the Weiner seat and the massive victory in Nevada last Tuesday are indicators that the Tea Party is still gathering steam. It would be shame to lose our momentum by nominating another McCain/Dole type.
