I believe that we have an historic opportunity to advance the conservative cause in 2012 and that we should take full advantage of it. Reagan and the Republicans had their huge victory in 1980 in large part because of the awfulness of the Carter Administration. The people were ready for a change and it produced two presidential landslides for the GOP.
My only regret was that the Democrats still controlled the Congress for the most part. Imagine what Reagan could have achieved with Republican control of both Houses!
Well that opportunity is ours for the taking in 2012 if we stick with Tea Party conservatism. I do not think even Freepers understand how huge our victory was in the 2010 congressional elections. We basically stopped Obama's agenda in its tracks. However, in order to reverse it, we will need more than to just put a Mitt Romney or Rick Perry in the White House. We will need a true Tea Party conservative in the White House with Tea Party control of the Senate and House. Otherwise the Congressional Democrats will keep us in checkmate just like we are holding them in checkmate right now.
The 9th District in New York takeover of the Weiner seat and the massive victory in Nevada last Tuesday are indicators that the Tea Party is still gathering steam. It would be shame to lose our momentum by nominating another McCain/Dole type.
You said a mouthful there! I'm amazed at how blind so many are to the tremendous opportunity to reverse the size and scope of government with a Palin/Tea Party ticket in 2012. Not only can we defeat Obama and the Democrats, we could actually do some real house cleaning in the GOP. The whole Washington,DC establishment needs their comeuppance. I'm looking for a way larger victory than "just beating Obama". Small thinking SUCKS!

I’m for freeper conservatism. Yes, we do have to deal with abortion, gay marriage and Iran. Not everything is about cutting the govt to the bone.
