Democratic party leaders insisted the loss wasnt a harbinger of things to come. Its a very difficult district for Democrats, said Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, noting its Democratic margins there tend to be the second lowest of all the districts in New York City. House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio), dismissed that idea.
This is a very seriously Democrat district, Mr. Boehner said. This is not a district that Republicans have any right to believe we could win.

No, the representatives up to now have actually been Jews ~ very representative Jews typical of the other Jews in the 9th.
First, there's "Chucky" Schumer. Then there's Tony "Weiner".
Like this district has tens of thousands of guys who sound like, look like, think like, and are exactly like "Chucky" and Tony.
This is the hardest of hard core Democrat backwaters. A Catholic Republican just swept the district.
DWS knows what that message is.

Yup. That District has only been Democrat since the Harding Administration. With a tradition like that, its a hard fight for the Democrats.

It takes a certain gift to say something like that with a straight face. I can't do it.

I’m quite comfortable with the idea of Brooklyn being a “very difficult district” for D. Maybe even happy about it.

I understand this seat has been held by the Democrats since 1928. I can understand how difficult it has been for them with a 3: 1 ratio of Dems to Repubs to hold this seat.
This is the same seat that helped catapault Geraldine Ferraro and Chuckie Schummer into national politics .
While the White House doesn’t admit that there is any correlation between this seat and the administration’s policy of isolating Isreal, I would disagree.
It speaks of things yet to come in 2012.

Tough Dem district? Then Dumb Debby is saying that there are probably 80-90% other CDs that are even more difficult. So Dumb Debby is admitting that the Dems are lost in 2012. Good work by the DNC chair-idiot. If she is spinnning, she just went around 180 degrees.

It’s not so difficult. Any Dem can say almost anything, and Pravda will report it unchallenged. And if it’s important to the cause, Pravda will emphasize the message to get the public to believe it.
DWS could have said NY 9 is a Republican stronghold, and it would have gone reported without challenge.

I’d wish she did, some people actually believes her. Self fulfilling prophecy and all that.
