The Big Tease. Sarah won't commit - but is still the life of the Party
Boston Herald ^ | Sept. 6, 2011 | Christine McConville

Posted on 09/05/2011 10:41:59 PM PDT by Clairity

A coy Sarah Palin talked a lot yesterday about the type of leader this country needs, but in what is turning into an extended national tease, she stopped just short of saying she will be that leader.

"I don't know yet," Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate turned best-selling author, told the Herald yesterday after her rousing midday speech at a Tea Party Express rally.

A fed-up Victor Luebker of the Armed Forces Tea Party Patriots [team stats] - a group of former military men and women who support the Tea Party's platform - said he's tired of Palin's games.

"She needs to declare and decide now," said Luebker, who did not attend the event. "The Tea Party is not a movement to sell books or make news for the sake of attention; we have serious issues facing our country."

Others, though, say they'll wait as long as necessary for Palin.

I’m beginning to wonder if Palin isn’t acting like someone contemplating a 3rd party run.

Her attacks on the GOP in general the other day really sounded like Pat Buchanen when he was irate with the entire GOP.

If she does, I’m thinking an independent run as a “tea party” favorite, or maybe she’ll follow Todd Palin’s lead with the Alaska Independent party. (Todd was a member of that party not too long ago. It endorsed the Constitution Party candidate last time around.)

She has to make sure, though, that a liberal republican (Romney or Huntsman) wins the GOP nod or else she will split the conservative vote. She’d rather the liberals split the lib vote between Romney and Obama.

What? All Perry is worried about is that it had a curse word? And the call to violence is secondary?! And not worth MENTIONING?!

Tea Party Groups Condemn Hoffa 'SOB' Remark

Asked about the rally on Fox News, Perry said he's focused on the ongoing Texas wildfires but said of Hoffa's remarks: "You wouldn't be bleeping it out if it was appropriate."

What does your childish name calling and smearing accomplish? Nothing. You don't debate. You smear. And I proved it.

You can dish it out but you don’t want to take it.

Btw, I don't go on Perry or any other candidate threads. But you troll.

If the Republican party is so bad, how does she think she can get elected WITHOUT the Republican party?.

The only Republicans who are against Sarah Palin are the moderate and liberal Republicans, 24% and 4%, respectively, of the GOP. The 72% of conservative Republicans would have no problem voting for Palin.

The moderates and liberal Republicans can join their soulmates in the Democrat party and vote for Obama or Romney. They need your numbers to make up for the votes they have lost from legal hispanics, blacks, college and young adults, and the geezers who don't want to be euthanized.

And Palin will get two thirds of the independent votes, those same independents who followed Palin's lead in 2010 to produce the greatest Republican wins in eighty years, and the greatest conservative wins in the history of the USA.

Seventy-two percent of Republicans regard themselves as conservative, according to Gallup tracking polls since January. That’s a number that has steadily risen since 200 when it was 62 percent. The percentage of self-described moderates in the party has fallen from 31 percent to 24 percent in that period and liberals, who have not been a factor in the GOP for decades, fell from 6 percent to 4 percent.

The conservative vote alone could not win a national race.

Any 3rd party run guarantees Obama another term.

Just this am, someone lied and said I was willing to tolerate corruption as long as it was by a Republican.

All you do is scream because the Repubs are called out for selling us out. You defend they when they SHOULD be voted out of office.

The Republican Party needs to be cleaned out! And so does DC!

Rick Perry’s response is rather odd:

But it’s OK with you if others trash Perry?

Tell me how your trolling Palin threads stops that? Are you so childish to believe that 2 wrongs make a right?

I don't post on Perry threads. But you DO troll Palin threads.

Nope, not if you split the libs and moderates.

The conservative vote could win. Below are the numbers from today’s new Wall Street Journal poll. As you can see the numbers are 57% moderate to liberal and 40% somewhat to very conservative. I could see it going 33,33,34% with the conservatives winning.

Very liberal ...................................... 7
Somewhat liberal ............................. 10
Moderate ......................................... 40
Somewhat conservative .................. 23
Very conservative ............................ 17
Not sure ......................................... 3

As I noted before, Palin attacked EVERYBODY with her speech to INCLUDE the GOP.

Sorry DJ I woke up late and missed the trolls. If they are still around. BRING IT, I'm here all day!!!

Part of me wonders if they are paid to harass conservatives. It is well known that dems pay idiots to call into talk radio, this has gone on for years.

Last week a guy claiming to be "Muslim" called Michael Savage saying he agreed with Savage and loved Michael's new novel. Problem is the book doesn't come out till September 13th. When Savage asked where he read it he said "Oh I read it in one night, it's great." He never answered the question...

So I think many of these trolls are potential bums simply on the democrat dole. I dunno if JR can follow their IP but maybe they are featured posters on Huffington Post or Daily Kommunist. Wouldn't surprise me at all though.

I don’t think it would happen. A 3rd party would split the vote. You can’t assume those that are moderate would vote 3rd party. Especially if those moderates didn’t believe you were fielding anyone who is moderate.

You aren’t listening. Those who are moderate WILL NOT vote for the conservative. They will vote for either Romney or Obama.

If those two split 60% of the vote and there are 40% who consider themselves conservative, then the conservative independent candidate can win with roughly 34% of that 40%.

Now do you understand?.

I don’t see a 3rd party happening this time around. What conservatives NEED to do is take control of the Republican party and kick out the elitists.

Well it seems that it is the SAME people every time!!! They know if they create a user name today they'll be zotted faster than Moochelle downing a cheeseburger.

But if you have an account created a while ago well maybe they can claim "WAIT I've been here since Nov 2, 2008!!! I'm a real FReeper".

With my wrist still broken I am not working the store today so I will eat the trolls for breakfast. I am in a particularly crabby mood after seeing that fat slob Hoffa call for my death.

Now if you or I may that statement the black helicopters would swoop in and Big Sis would send a swat team down our chimneys like Santa Claus, but if you are a fat slob union thug you can threaten anyone...

So Palin hater trolls, I'm in a pissy mood and ready for you. And I consider DJ one of the best people I've ever met on this website and unlike you I've been posting here daily for 10 years!!! I personally pray you all get zotted to hell. I was thrown in the penalty box for a week for fighting with trolls who've all disappeared, yet you guys are still around bashing some of the most remarkable FReepers in the history of this website!

It has never worked before and you know it. You simply can’t figure how people would vote. Especially this cycle. How do you know people who call themselves conservative are really that conservative? You don’t know that. I know a few who call themselves conservative that think Mitt Romney is a conservative.

What we do know is that 3rd parties get involved, we lose.

I can definitely see it.

Todd Palin was for a long time a member of the Alaska Independence Party.

It would explain why Palin is holding back, and why she attacked ALL others yesterday, to include the GOP. Plus, she spoke of her history against the GOP status quo.

I think she might actually try to do it. Todd’s Alaska Independence Party endorsed the Constitution Party candidate last time, and Palin could be on all 50 state ballots by running as the CP candidate.
