(WASHINGTON) House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) today released the following statement regarding Department of Justice personnel changes involving Arizona U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke, ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Emory Hurley:
"While the reckless disregard for safety that took place in Operation Fast and Furious certainly merits changes within the Department of Justice, the Oversight and Government Reform Committee will continue its investigation to ensure that blame isn't offloaded on just a few individuals for a matter that involved much higher levels of the Justice Department. There are still many questions to be answered about what happened in Operation Fast and Furious and who else bears responsibility, but these changes are warranted and offer an opportunity for the Justice Department to explain the role other officials and offices played in the infamous efforts to allow weapons to flow to Mexican drug cartels. I also remain very concerned by Acting Director Melson's statement that the Department of Justice is managing its response in a manner intended to protect its political appointees. Senator Grassley and I will continue to press the Department of Justice for answers in order to ensure that a reckless effort like Fast and Furious does not take place again."
I will be very, very, very .... VERY ... pissed off if, after another year (or more) of hearings, we’re still not holding ozero and holder for trial.
but I expect it.

You get while you can get!
It doesn't matter whether you campaign against the Obamistas simply because you can prove them corrupt, or because you proved them corrupt. You'll get the same number of votes either way.
Issa could get more of them to talk NOW if he'd remind them that if this has to wait for the next Republican administration they WILL get extradited to Mexico to stand trial for participating in the murder of those government officials.
Tell 'em to SQUEAL LIKE A PIG eh.
Read that Issa is waiting to drop the hammer a little bit closer to election time. Holder will be replaced and total (more than usual) confusion will ensue within the regime. Issa playing it right, IMHO.
The investigation of F&F is all but dead. If the ‘Pubbies try to bring it out during the campaign season, it will be ignored as “ancient history.”
The bastards got away with it.
I don’t think this has anything to do with any campaign. In watching all of the hearings and following this closely they are taking all the correct legal steps and they’re ducks are all lined up.
There aren't many levels higher than "ATF Director".
Link please?
What link are you looking for? I’ve re-read his post several times and can’t see what it is you are asking for that could possibly have a link.
NO....this process takes time...special prosecutor maybe in the works...in the end Holder will resign.
A link where they read that Issa is waiting to drop the hammer close to election time. I have been a little out of the loop on Fast and Furious news.
Agreed. The mere fact he has not yet nor has he explained why in sworn testimony he lied and stonewalled and said ‘I don’t know I just heard about this a few weeks ago” shows no sense of ethics of leadership and guilt.
That was the poster’s opinion, there would be no link.
There opinion was that Issa was playing it right they said they READ that Issa was waiting to drop the hammer close to election time. I just want to know if it was a published opinion or news story.
I don’t know if it is still up on the DOJ site...but a speech he gave over 2 years ago speaking in Mexico even at that time talked of it...so over 2 years ago by his own words, he knew of it and was part of it all. That’s why Issa and Grassley know he is a liar.
