WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama on Saturday personally led his government’s response to Hurricane Irene, marshalling top officials and visiting a disaster command center as the storm roared ashore.
Obama greeted officials at the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) set up at the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) headquarters in Washington, and then held a video conference with federal and state officials.

IMO, the reaction and planned response has been in the works for 2 1/2 years. They wanted an opportunity to show the correct response a President should have for a hurricane. However no hurricane for his first 2 years. Finally a puny Cat 1/TS shows up so they go into full fear-monger, lockdown mode to scare the sheeple. Only the thing fizzles out. there are going to be a lot of businesses who lost the opportunity to make money this weekend. but then again maybe that was part of the plan. Never let a crisis go to waste.

Just in time for the downgrade to a Category 1 and probably just a tropical storm. The MSM is just frantic to find SOMETHING, ANYTHING to make a hero outta him . . . and, so is DU as well. Hoping to justify their ill-advised votes wasted on hopey-changey. Well, at least they got the changey part. 50% ain’t bad.
