still think this is a free country?
If you wanted proof that we were all snookered when they started “allowing” us to have CCW permits, this is it.
Constitutional carry or nothing!
>> CCW permits invalid for duration of the emergency.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. /s
Well...that’s bull#$%^. Isn’t it?
How about a shotgun .. out in the open?
This makes absolutely no sense.
Civil unrest? Who said there would be civil unrest?
I don’t discount the damage that could be done by this storm, but with one huge exception, most people pull together in times like these.
LOL!
I doubt there is 1 person in 1,000 who now carries and who will stop carrying because “the authorities” have repealed their right to carry.
Funny stuff.
And you’re first instinct was right on - - it is exactly with the possibility of “civil unrest” in mind that many people carry in the first place. The state’s ludicrous declaration that CCWs are “invalid” is ludicrous. People would have to be fools to pay any attention to this nonsense.
Governments love disasters as excuses to gain power!
Bump for later comment.
I keep seeing this whole thing way overblown. There will be damage, but nothing like the idiots standing in the rain are telling us. Just another slow news month when the MSM is trying to avoid talking about the stellar vacation the Regime just had. Swell.
The storm is now coming to where I live. If my house is flooded and FEMA doesn’t instantly respond, I’m going to publicly declare that Obama doesn’t like white people.
Proof libs are reading comprehension disabled!
When a government “gives” you your rights, they can take them away.
It wouldn’t slow me down.
Well here's something for all you bleeding hearts to think about:
IF TROUBLE IS SECONDS AWAY; THE POLICE ARE MINUTES AWAY. Do the math.
Or in case of natural disaster they are hours or days away. According to your squishy feel-good beliefs all should be disarmed and left to the will of looters, thugs, burglars, rapists, and worse? Of course those crimes have never happened in mass quantities. Oh, wait, Katrina comes to mind.
Is there something in your liberal/progressive brain pan that warps your natural self-preservation instincts? Really? I really don't understand why you don't want to defend yourself. Are you so wrapped up in your silly Mother Earth ideology or just too plain chicken-shit to defend yourselves?
That said, and knowing how you hate guns, I think if you want to be consistent, you should have a sign on your lawn or door saying,
"This Is A Gun Free Zone".
I'm there for you. I'll actually contribute to your signage.
"NO GUNS! NOT NOW! NOT EVER!
NO GUNS HERE, FOREVER!
Actually, my favorite is:
THIS IS A WEAPONIZED NON-VICTIM ZONE;
TRY NEXT DOOR!
Mein got! Who here has any firearms/weapons? We lost them all in tragic boating accidents during the last storm, remember? Comeon guys.
Please stop spreading this disinformation.
The Governor's office issued this statement when it declared the initial state of emergency for the eastern NC counties:
This order is adopted pursuant to my powers under Article 1 of Chapter 166A of the General Statutes and under Article 36A of Chapter 14 of the General Statutes. It does not trigger the limitations on weapons in G.S. § 14-288.7 or impose any limitation on the consumption, transportation, sale or purchase of alcoholic beverages.
In NC, we deal with this all the time when a state of emergency is declared. Some idiot jurisdictions like King continue to be a problem, but the 2nd Amendment groups already have active suits there. I think we will eventually change our law (G.S. § 14-288.7) but until then, the Governor can just state that the declaration does not trigger that particular statute.
In Mississippi, the y left our guns alone. I had my .357 on my hip (without a CCW, so technically illegal) and was putting a sign at the entrance to our street that said: Armed Community - looters WILL BE SHOT. A Florida Trooper cruised by, paused to look me over and read the sign, then touched the brim of his hat and drove off.
Knowing that difference in gun philosophy, one might ask how much looting they saw in Mississippi - I saw none on the news. Makes a case for INSISTING those with weapons carry them, CCW or not, during this type emergency - it keeps the rabble rousers in line.
During a disaster why carry concealed? I’d have the .45 on my leg, and the AR15 or 12 gauge on my shoulder.
another grim reminder of the potential of a storm to cause civil unrest.Hey NUMBNUTZ goobermint, that's WHY you need CCW and all your weapons - CIVIL UNREST!
friggen pencil neck geeks.
