I haven’t watched The Weather Channel in ages, since it was sold to the leftists. Al Roker is on the Weather Channel now?

Thank you for your prayers.

Yes, it has been quite a while, hasn’t it?

We are doing fine here, right now, on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Rain is pretty heavy, and the winds are moderately strong. Worst part is we are under a tornado watch until 8P.

Portions of our county have evacuated, but, fortunately, our house is not in a low area.

We will probably lose power, which I would not mind except for the fact that we have a well. So we have water supplies standing by and I have filled the washing machine with water for a reservoir for flushing, etc.

Yesterday, we prepped by putting away or securing outdoor furniture and such and gathering stuff we might need. We are ready (I hope...)

God bless. Take care.

As Hurricane Irene batters the East Coast, federal disaster officials have warned that Internet outages could force people to interact with other people for the first time in years.

Residents are bracing themselves for the horror of awkward silences & unwanted eye contact. FEMA has advised: “Be prepared. Write down possible topics to talk about in advance. Sports, the weather.

Remember, a conversation is basically a series of Facebook updates strung together.”

Same to you and your family! Looks like Irene is on your doorstep there in the Chesapeake Bay... hope all is still well. There have been hints about tornado watches in our area, but none so far. It's eerily quiet outside now... it's not even raining at all at the moment.

We have several acres of huge, TALL trees hovering right over the house - I'm really worried that one or more of 'em will come down on the house. Damn Irene!

I always considered TWC viewers as mostly hard-core weather junkies and/or business travelers who want the no-nonsense approach (as they had with Marshall Seese and Heather Tesch in the mornings for years) i.e. they wanted to avoid the candyfloss happy talk of the network news shows and their weather guys/pantomime clowns.

So you can imagine how bewildered and dismayed I was when Al Roker was made part of TWC’s morning i.e. they promoted him above all others. He’s a buffoon and has put me off the channel even when it’s not his airshift.

I can’t figure out why Roker got that position, either.

He must know where the bodies are buried.

I’m glad you posted that you’re all right. I’ve been worrying about you. Put Spot’s raincoat on, just in case.

Thanks for the update fedup! We made it to Lancaster, cat OK so far, had a good dinner at outback (they never let me down), our cheerful waitress was a bright spot. Lots of Jersey/Staten Island refugees here.

From the news it seems Ocean City, MD is getting pounded and the worst is yet to come for us & NYC. We’ll keepp assessing as time goes bye, I’ll be sure to tell hubby what you said.

Stay safe!

Kate! Great to see you!

I was worried about you too. I figured whatever Irene was going to do, you all would see the worst of it. Hope you're doing okay.

Put Spot’s raincoat on, just in case.

(sigh) I tried, I tried. But Spot plays by his own rules. The second I reached for his yellow slicker he was out the door, running around in the rain. Can't tell him anything.

But that didn't last long. He got caught in a particularly deep puddle and had to hitch a ride on this passing frog.

Maybe he's learned his lesson, but I doubt it :-|

:-D

Oh, I love it. I love it! Wherever do you get these terrific things?

I was in no danger. But it’s nice to know you were thinking of me.

Thanks for the laugh on an otherwise Muddled Monday Morning.

Kate

Okey doke!
Dean Martin immediately came to me!

(Pardon delayed response)
