Sarah Palin Is a Tease!
Even after Michele Bachmanns win in the Iowa straw poll last weekend, Sarah Palin wont go away. Is she really serious about running for president? As Meghan McCain sees it, not a chance.
Its the middle of August and were in the dog days of a political summer, when the Republican contenders for president are scrambling to figure out how to unseat Obama in 2012. The exaggerated importance placed on last weekends Ames straw poll isnt a surprise. Michele Bachmann probably wont be our next president, but the intense need for some sort of political news in our nonstop 24-hour cycle is to be expected. What should not be expected, however, is that six months away from the New Hampshire primary in January, the media is still spending a considerable amount of time obsessing over Sarah Palin, a woman who may or may not even be interested in a run for the White House.

The fact that Palin could not even get 35 votes out of 17,000 cast at the Iowa Straw Poll is not a “weak” argument but it doesn’t matter, it will all shake out in the long run.
Agreed Garantua(SPELLING?) and RED SOUTH copy and paste and they have carte blanche to post what ever is on they’re minds. As well as some other Palinista diehards.
The thread yesterday about the "first dude" valiantly jousting with some woman in Iowa over the issue just re-inforces my opinion on the issue.
The woman (who was of course immediately demonized by the faithful here) took the Toddster to task on the issue and his reply was....."go see the movie".
That, in a nutshell is the insurmountable problem...The public sees Mrs. Toddster as a quitter and the Toddster's counter is...spend some money if you want the truth explained to you.
Now, forgetting the spend some money part, the real problem they face is getting 68-70 Million American voters to take the time to listen to their excuse and to accept it as truth...and then to vote for his wife.
Palin’s endorsements of Perry and some other locals throughout the US are not seemingly based on any virtue of the tea party but virtue of her own recognition.I would like to cut her some slack and say at the time these decisions were seemingly good but her current tease game is ridiculous. Her showing up for the straw poll and then when no one wrote in her name she went home and then made fun of the poll; did it for me.Also, her saying she would be Romney’s VP you betcha in 2012-all shows she goes with the flow. She is not a leader she is a player politician like Perry,Newt,Romney et al.
I’m sure no one has ever done anything as sinister as that. Her purpose for being there, was to help her daughter sell some books. I shudder to think at how something so stupid gets peoples nuts all twisted.
100% BS. In case you haven’t heard, or didn’t know,or didn’t care, the Straw Poll was held in Ames. Sarah Palin spent the day before it at the Iowa State Fair, closer to Des Moines which is about thirty miles away. So your little fairy tale blows up in you before you can get out of the way.
Never said she would be Romneys VP. Stop lying, you sound like a liberal.
One lie after another.
That, in a nutshell is the insurmountable problem...The public sees Mrs. Toddster as a quitter and the Toddster’s counter is...spend some money if you want the truth explained to you.
Wrong Aesop. He told her to go see the movie because the moron who confronted him had no interest in hearing the truth. No matter what he said, she wet her panties at the thrill of calling his wife a quitter. His answer or explanation did not mean a thing to this idiot. He didn’t want her money.
She couldn’t get 35 votes in the Ames poll because she didn’t want any votes in the Ames poll. Getting votes for pay wasn’t of any interest to her. It did Pawlenty a lot of good didn’t it, wasting the last dimes of his campaign money on meaningless votes. Your argument is one of the weakest I have ever seen. One thing I do agree with is , it doesn’t matter.
Avoiding the larger point, I see....well, I guess you pretty much have to.
Sorry sweetheart, of course the one I posted is not the one you are talking about. It knocks your continuing agenda of hate and lies to the ground. You readily dismiss a video that clearly shows hundreds , if not thousands of Iowans cheering wildly at the mention that she may run.
You’d be wasting your time trying to convince people like me of anything. You don’t have to try. We see right through you.
Exposing liars and haters like you IS on to do lists of all Freepers who dislike things like that.
Thanks for the entertainment. You’re hardening us for when the real battle begins.
The fact is there was a write-in line on the ballot, don't you think that if the demand is like you claim, there should have been more than 35 write ins for Palin out of almost 17,000 cast. Anyone desiring to vote for Palin could have gotten a free ticket from one of the other campaigns or groups offering free tickets. No one's free ticket came with someone watching over the voters' shoulder to see how they voted.
Besides, if you had been an Iowan Sat., wouldn't you have been willing to part with $30.00 to support Sarah?
I was SHOCKED that she received no more than 35 votes, I would never have predicted that. It reinforces the point, there is no demand for Palin to run for president. People like her and respect her, they just don't want her to run for president.
We must defeat Obama.
I thought she was all “Mavericky” ?
Yep.
I was hoping this thread would be full of pics
Good try, but that dog won’t hunt.
Romney won the 2007 Ames straw poll, McCain just barely got 1%. Proof positive it means absolutely nothing whatsoever.
SP is the same as Fred Thompson was in 08.
The faithful here on FR will support her and implore everyone else that only she can save the country.
I remember much the same behavior last time. Fred was going to jump way out ahead at any minute. I don’t think Fred ever broke 20% but I could be remembering that part incorrectly.
I do know Fred was never a serious contender as far as electability goes.
I think Sarah may enter the race, but I don’t think it’ll be a game changer.
Looks like TomServo is on the warpath this morn. LOL
I think you’re close to the mark on much of what you write. I have never believed she would run (she’s not presently electable in my opinion), but I actually think she’s doing damage to her own brand. This hide-the-ball, on-again, off-again approach makes her look indecisive or excessively calculating, neither of which are especially flattering, and both of which cut against the advertised elements of her character - the principled, decisive, toughness that attracted many to her in the first place. I also think the coming announcement that she isn’t running, will hit some of her devoted following (especially around here) very hard, and is sure to alienate some of them; that’s not a desirable outcome. I can well understand her wanting to be a force in conservative politics, and indeed I welcome her contribution, but I think the longer this goes on, the less credible she seems in any leadership capacity.
:)
I think many people are finally getting it where Palin is concerned.
Tip o the hat for an accurate descripion.
