THE riots in London and elsewhere in Britain are a backhanded tribute to the long-term intellectual torpor, moral cowardice, incompetence and careerist opportunism of the British political and intellectual class.
They have somehow managed not to notice what has long been apparent to anyone who has taken a short walk with his eyes open down any frequented British street: that a considerable proportion of the country's young population (a proportion that is declining) is ugly, aggressive, vicious, badly educated, uncouth and criminally inclined.

You sound like that English writer, Theodore Dalrymple. He has noticed the underclass being created on purpose by the intellectual elites who were destroying the Character, Honor, Wisdom, Duty, and Justice of the people in England which so typified a Churchill and had made England an Empire.
England is being eradicated by massive immigration, promotion of abortion, and promiscuity, media that pours out vulgar filth, and a school system devoid of all history and knowledge which even eradicated Milton and Shakespeare.
Result—they have had several generations of severely abused and neglected children who can’t be anything but ignorant thugs—useful idiots to create mayhem, so the New World Communists can take complete control.
They have been destroyed from within by the one world communists like Tony Blair and the other puppets.

The historian Will Durant noted that great civilizations were built on a strong moral foundation, and that their decline followed a decline in morality. Some things never change.

Not quite sure why it’s the fault of anyone but the rioters, themselves. Reminds me of the old Monty Python one-liner: ‘It’s a fair cop, but society’s to blame.’
Can’r blame barbarians for being barbarians. Just don’texpect too much of them. Certainly don’t expect a sense of personal responsibility.
The European elite has sentenced entire nations to death. This is only the beginning. Pat Buchanan was onto this story in Death of the West in 2001.
His point was that the British intellectual class, creator of the welfare state, has created these people by depriving them of all notion of faith, honor, truth, responsibility, love and loyalty, and by giving them massive handouts that do nothing but breed resentment.
Individual acts are obviously the fault of the individual, but so many people with no moral compass wouldn’t have been possible without the diligent work of intellectuals over the decades since WWII, year after year working to destroy British society and replace it with Animal Farm socialism.

Since you mentioned the ruling class, I’ll say that if the left can organize such huge protests, they can just as easily organize a riot too. They’ve been practicing for a long time.

It is all about worldview—ideas.
Too many people think that all their children need is healthy food and exercise. They ignore the ideas that are being pumped into their heads 24/7.
Their little brains soak up everything in the first 7 years of life—everything. If behavior of hitting their mother is seen—it becomes ingrained in them. Behaviors are habituated and internalized in those years...sexual identity stays open until 12 or first experience with sex. Behavior determines what you think and how you think. Morality is formed in early life and if not, it rots the culture from inside (Gramsci/Marcuse/Dewey, etc. cultural Marxists introduced PC and separation of Church and State to destroy morality being taught in the schools.) McGuffey Readers taught to respect God and all his creations—all people because they were the children of God. That ended in the 1930’s. Since then, Holmes destroyed the Rule of Law—his separation from morality from law—Legal Positivism which is no longer “Just Law” (Cicero).
Long March (through our Institutions) Roger Kimbal (sp?) chronicles the steps the Marxists took to destroy the universities, the public schools, marriage contracts—all aspects of the legal system.
Now, the idea of God and exposure to role models like George Washington and Lincoln and Wilberforce —all great people started being vilified by leftists in 1913—Beard and Carl Becker-—All Quiet on the Western Front-—to destroy those ideas of Honor, Duty, Courage and Virtue. It was steered by the German Philosophy of the 19th century—Intentionally—to transform Western Civilization from Christianity to atheism.
It is really simple to understand. Christianity was a universal religion which gave importance to all human beings—even the unborn and the old and feeble and the lepers. At its basis is self-sacrifice. It teaches the Truth—that this life is hard, but do good and work hard and your rewards will be great, if not in this life then in the next life. It is the reason we have had Churchill, Bonhoeffer, Lincoln, Newton, Solzhenitsyn, Dante, Bach, Reagan, Thatcher, Lord Acton and JF Kennedy. Not people of perfection, but people who will stand up to great evils and not allow them—even lose their life because of that stand.
Communism loathes those who thwart their ideas and socialists want control over every thought and action—They want serfdom because they want the power to eliminate those who they deem are unworthy of life. They want an unpolluted playground, just for themselves and their families. They want to be able to use all others for their own wicked pleasures. They are truly evil.
