S&P warns of a second downgrade
Politico ^ | August 6, 2011 | Josh Boak

One day after lowering the nation’s platinum triple-A credit rating, Standard & Poor’s analysts warned Saturday that the U.S. government could face a second downgrade if the economy continues to struggle and the government fails to make the cuts outlined in the debt ceiling agreement.

The ratings agency on Friday downgraded the nation to AA+ for the first time in history, saying partisanship in Washington is preventing dramatic deficit reduction.

Except that I study history. People repeat things.

We are in the end phase of democracy. The next step is either tyranny or monarchy. Democracies last around 200 years, and fall.

Well, that’s sorta what I envisioned, except it happens a tad faster than expected.

"...the socialist utopia known as ‘Globalism’

Those U.N. cockamamies can't even get the EU running without being sucked into a black hole of debt, let alone the entire globe. Are you kidding me? Do those Brussels Ba$tard$ think we're stupid enough to swallow all that garbola, when they can't even save a couple of EU members? Heck, their cities can't even support their own townships, can you all really stop and think what it would take to run the entire globe. A festering dung-hill of socialist madness, with a crippling, back-stabbing, tax-gobbling bureaucracy. The mind reels with sarcastic comment.

"We are looking at very interesting times within one year from now.

One year from now! Are you kidding me? Half the debt ceiling bump "the boys" just passed has already been consumed paying debts that were borrowed since April. Market-Ticker is predicting another debt ceiling crisis October 1st of this year. It might have been possible way back when, but now you're running at 100% of GDP. You need to cut government in HALF, right now, to stop the bleeding. Man, you are out of Hope, out of Rope, and out of Time. The horror is, we're ALL going to be in big doo-doo because of the last 50 years of incompetence.

God gave us liberty, but we have squandered that gift. With that gift came all the tools we would ever need to care for that gift. One of those tools was proclaimed in the first three words of the Declaration of Independence. The repository of Liberty is with the People, if they so choose to accept one of God’s greatest gifts...

All through the Bible are stories and parables of gifts given by God. Gifts that were neglected overtime and abused. Those who proved ungrateful were brought low and humbled. Israel was brought low, Hebrews were made slaves. There are consequences to rejecting God’s gifts. Trials, tribulations and yes, even tyranny.

If we chose to ignore that responsibility, we do very much deserve the tyranny we get.

That's cuts, Dingy Harry, not more taxes.

Not sure if that’s his plan, but it’s definitely shaping up to be an option. Learning from his idol Chavez.

0bama wants to destroy the US economy so he can assume “emergency” powers and become a full fledged dictator.

He can "want" til hell freezes over, but no one ever became a dictator without removing the people's guns, first.

Let's see him try to over-rule the 2nd Amendment for real, and actually take 200 million firearms from 90 million resistive Americans.

Ain't gonna happen.

It comes down to this: we deserve whatever God thinks we deserve.

The judgment that America deserves tyranny does not belong to men. Don’t accept it from anyone but God.

God’s eternal will builds nations and destroys them. But we can only carry out his moral will—and it is his moral will that inspires everything that makes our country great.

I will continue to strive to conform my will to God’s moral will. I refuse to accept the tyranny of men. If this is a sin because it is a refusal of God’s eternal will, it is only so to my ignorance.

We are saved by the New Covenant, God’s mercy through his judgment on the cross, where Jesus died for our sins.

The GOP should immediately put CCB back up for a vote.

If I'm not mistaken, the entire Congress is out of town now for their August recess. Likely won't be back until after Labor Day. If I am mistaken, they will come back next week for just some pro forma business before beating it out of town.

America hasn't been a democracy for 200 years. Some would argue that we've been there for about 100 years, but in fact, the republican roots built into our Constitution have protected us from becoming a full-on democracy.

Sure, we're far closer than we'd like to be, but not quite all the way there. And if recent (and developing) history is any indicator, we're near to forging back toward that republican ideal with a vengeance.
