Esther in her coffin at the service at which pro-life activists honored her body and her life.
Orlando, FL, July 25, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) On this past Thursday, July 21, Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, preached at a memorial service for an aborted baby girl.
The child was intact and her body was retrieved after a late-term abortion. The memorial service, organized by Operation Save America, was held outside of City Hall in Orlando.
We are here because this baby was killed in the darkness, and we come to honor her in the bright light of day, Fr. Pavone declared in his remarks. The abortion industry wants to hide the violence done to these children, but we must be committed to expose it. Therefore we need to hold many more of these services, with tens of thousands of people looking at these children and recommitting themselves to end abortion.
During the service, the name Esther was given to the child.
Fr. Frank invited any pro-life activists who obtain the remains of aborted children to be in contact with him to arrange for a proper wake service and burial.
Its not the first time that aborted babies are afforded funerals. In 2008, Detroit Bishop John Quinn offered a funeral for 18 aborted babies whose bodies were discovered in dumpsters at the Woman Care abortuary. Later that same year, Fr. Pavone offered a funeral for three aborted babies at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament that EWTNs Mother Angelica built in Hanceville, Alabama. In 2010, Michigan Bishop Earl Boyea celebrated a funeral mass for 17 aborted children.

Legislation on the matter was passed in 2001 in the Czech Republic when President Vaclav Havel signed into law a bill regarding funeral arrangements which included a clause ensuring that the remains of aborted babies receive a proper burial. In 2010, in Michigan a bill was proposed to protect the remains of aborted babies from being simply discarded as biohazardous waste.

One thing the Catholic Church should change is when Baptism is performed. Baptism should occur as the result of a persons commitment to Christ; not some formality performed on a baby. This type of ritualized behavior sets the stage for the idea that if you engage in the ritual, you will be given the blessing even if you have no idea what the ritual means. Dear friend in Christ, infant baptism dates back to the earliest centuries of the church, as corroborated by the Early Church Fathers.
"Baptize first the children; and if they can speak for themselves, let them do so. Otherwise, let their parents or other relatives speak for them."
St. Hippolytus of Rome ("The Apostolic Tradition," 215 A.D.)
Infant Baptism is biblical. In Acts 10:47-48, we read that Peter baptized the entire house of Cornelius, which generally included infants and young children. There is not one word in Scripture about baptism being limited to adults. In Acts 16:15, Paul baptized Lydia and her entire household. The word "household" comes from the Greek word "oikos" which is a household that includes infants and children. Paul baptizes the household based on Lydia's faith, not the faith of the members of the household. This demonstrates that parents can present their children for baptism based on the parents' faith, not the children's faith.

interesting to read this while everyone is reeling over the murders in Norway.
Some types of murder still shock people - others, not so much

I just find myself sick at the thought of a fully formed, otherwise viable baby being murdered in cold blood like this. This is the image of pure evil.
In all honesty, I actually cheered when the mass murderer George Tiller was taken out. Somewhere, at least one toddler is alive today because Tiller is dead.

How do the people that provide these late term abortion procedures sleep at night. Do they have a soul? That picture, broke my heart. God Bless that poor baby. Also God Bless Father Pavone.

In the mid-70’s when abortion was first legalized, many general hospitals were performing these abominable procedures. Surgery depts were sometimes torn apart over the most devisive issue of our time. I was a surgical tech in 2 large medical centers where infanticide was practiced. Sadly it seemed that we pro-lifers were usually in the minority. Many long friendships were forever destroyed over the issue. I refused to EVER participate in any way, shape, or form in the murders of the pre-born—a stand that brought me a great deal of quite vicious retribution. I had absolutely no qualms about my stand, but I was very traumatized by the degree of savage hatred from a lot of former friends. I sure didn't need their validation, but it was the first time I'd ever seen pure evil face to face. It must have felt very similar in 1930’s Germany when Nazism allowed morally corrupt lessers to spew hatred into the faces of Jewish Germans and eventually to steal from and then to kill them. I am not overstating the evil that permeated(s) these abettors of slaughter. When the supposed doctor who championed the destruction of the innocent and eventually opened the first abortuarium (that made him quite wealthy)would walk by, I'd definitely feel the presence of Satan himself. Once the department became polarized along the lines of pro and anti-life, the enemies of Go(o)d, rarely passed up an opportunity to verbally assault, usually in a snide, cunning (as in like the devil) manner. The worst example and one of the most horrific acts I've ever witnessed involved a group of 3 clever, cool, hip, pro-abortion types in a utility area between operating rooms playing with the dismembered remains of a days worth of murdered precious ones. They found it amusing to rearrange the limbs, heads, and torsi in various configurations. These perpetrators of the grossest of evil would have also been the types who'd have had no problems
administering lethal injections to the “useless eaters” of society or dumping the Zyklon B pellets into the “euthanasia chambers”. There can never be an excuse for allowing expediency to justify abortion and euthanasia—no matter how difficult the circumstances. Ergo, the mass murder of so many by a nation so utterly wealthy, in material ways that is, makes this wretched slaughter over the past 38 years all the more heart breaking. I can only pray that God will bring about a revival that will cleanse us all of our propensity for evil.

Lord our God, the Author of life, rest Thy servant child Esther with the saints and have mercy on her torturers and murderers.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.

Fr. Pavone is an American hero.
I can imagine the left working overtime to find ways to slander and silence him. May God continue to give him strength.

Exactly. Nazi Germany could have learned a thing or two from our sick society today.
For years, I have looked at abortion as an American Holocaust.
How right we are to speak against the genocide ongoing in third world countries, yet we ignore the mass murders ongoing in our own backyards?

It is time, in fact way past time, for decent hearted Christians to hit the streets to preach about how incredibly evil we have become as a nation and that there is hope, forgiveness and salvation in Christ alone. For us to sit by with an attitude of "just look at what the evil are doing" from our safe and secluded homes is making us just as guilty as they. Our nation needs people to show us the terrible condition of our souls with great passion and a loud voice.
Isa 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

I remember hearing my son's heartbeat for the first time:
Whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush-whush (staccato beat).
So proud I could just *burst*.
Cheers!
