Utah woman offers organ donation, then shoots self

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- A Utah woman has committed suicide shortly after telling emergency personnel she wanted her organs harvested.
St. George Police Captain Scott Staley says the 57-year-old woman made a call Friday morning to 911 to say she wanted to be an organ donor.

That would be irrational.
Severe shortage of organs, steady source, donor cards filled out = Take the organs.
Would organs from a terminally ill patient somehow be “Better”, and if so, exactly how?
This is supposed to be medicine, not emotion.

If a person’s going to check themselves out of the remainder of life, at least they’ve been proactive about helping out other’s who are fighting to live. Her one life lost can help multiple lives continue.
