NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Buffeted by high taxes, strict regulations and uncertain state budgets, a growing number of California companies are seeking friendlier business environments outside of the Golden State. And governors around the country, smelling blood in the water, have stepped up their courtship of California companies.

Wouldn’t it be better to address the root cause? What am I missing here?Wouldn’t it be better to address the root cause? What am I missing here?

Ummm,... it's politically impossible to address the root cause?

Could be true, but it wasn’t the same Santa Anna who got his butt kicked and killed by Sam Houston men.

There is a very simple test for admitting Californians to red states. If they are gun owners, they are conservatives. If guns are scary and make them cry, they are liberals. Texas and the other red states should have a law - you can’t move in if you are not a legal gun owner.

That is what I call a good start.

My wife wants me to go to bed. Good night all.

I guess I did not make my point very well, I was agreeing with you by pointing out that accept for the Spanish that sided with Texas no one was Texan in 1836. Austin lead what? 1500 Settlers to Texas in 1820 so the longest any of the anglos had been in Texas was 15 years. I know for personal experience that it takes longer then 15 years to become a Texan :) I’ve been here 35 years and my friends still think I’m a Yankee.

This Californian is asking "directions to Irving, Texas?"

You'll probably be taking the same route out that I did, back in late 2005. No doubt, you've already got it plotted into your GPS.

I'll have to stop by when you get to Irving, and say hello. Let me know when you're settled in.

“Later this year, California will set up a new agency that will serve as a focal point for economic development and job creation, he said. Among its goals will be to reverse the perception that California is business-unfriendly.”

Ahahah!!

Yes that is the solution to California’s problems of too much taxes, regulations, and instability. A new Government agency.

Tell us, is this new Government agency going to be able to veto the actions of the State legislator, or halt the progressive assault on business in the State of Califorina? I don’t think so, the people of California have proven that they are in love with the progressive destruction of their business and liberties.

I welcome California’s freedom-loving and business friendly population to come join us In Texas, and I’m sure every other freedom loving and business friendly state also welcomes you.

You need not stay with a people who abuses and resent you for what you do.

So you found the new man made”off ramp” interesting. You should have been with us when we evacuated to the Hill Country because of a hurricane. Very few folks going into Houston and contraflow had not yet been set up to accommodate the thousands of cars so a bunch of pick-ups took off across the median and magic - instead of 4 westbound lanes (two regular lanes plus both shoulders), we now had 6! Really helped clear out the traffic even though it surprised a few folks who suddenly came upon all of those cars westbound on their eastbound side of the freeway.

Yep...I saw that also. I also liked:

Among its goals will be to reverse the perception that California is business-unfriendly.

Perception? Ummm, it's a reality.

Instead of lowering taxes and getting rid of miserable regulations and agencies... their idea is to win/trick people with some flashy marketing campaign. That'll work (extreme sarcasm)

Congratulations on your planned escape from the Molden State! I got out during Moonbeam`s first go-round in 1976 when I joined the Air Force at age 19 and never moved back.

I guess that being outnumbered 12-1 by the Mexican army doesn`t come into play here. I wonder how long a group of Californians would`ve held out at the Alamo?

After seeing the results of migration of California liberals into Oregon, Washington and Nevada, it`s quite understandable why other neighboring states are a little squeamish about the same happening to them.

There are over 520 state agencies in California and you can see the names on Wiki.

———I think I would rather deal with illegals from Mexico instead of idiots from California.-——

What a great thought. At what point does the stream of disgruntled but rational California refugees transition into marginally liberal irrationals?

Yes, exactly right. Utopia is just around the corner. Soon 25% of those working will pay 100% tax and the rest can sit around all day enjoying life. We’ll all be wrapped in Golden Fleeces.
