I can’t tell you what the difference is. I can see it with my own eyes. So have many others. I am not an expert in photography..but I sure can see something that is not flattering - whether intentional or not.

Maybe it is nothing more than a combination of factors in that photo making her face look strange . Compare that cover to the picture that someone posted from inside the magazine. Surely you can tell one looks better than the other. Surely you can tell her jaw does not look so manly.

Did Newsweek do it on purpose? I don’t know.

I went to college with Scott Walker at Marquette University. I’d love for Scott to run, but he’s got a handful of issues to deal with in Wisconsin, a liberal state.

Christie...my dream candidate but he’s not running. Unfortunately.

I call McGeevy an absolute creep. I call Spitzer a criminal. Palin, who I like a lot, simply quit. I’m not going to support someone in the Presidency that can’t even stay in the kitchen when it got hot in her own state.

You know darn well if a Democrat did the same thing she did and then ran for President, you would be ALL OVER that person. Be honest, you know you would.

Name a Democrat governor who accomplished half-as-much as Palin did in half-a-term.

I hope you are right Windflier, but I think a lot of people in this country don’t like quitters and she’s never really had to address the fact she quit on Alaska. If she runs, she will have to seriously explain to the people in this country why she quit and why people in the USA should trust her not to do it again. If she thought being Governor of Alaska was bad with the scrutiny, what does she think the POTUS brings?

I’d prefer her on the sidelines and doing great work there, exposing liberals, etc, etc

Finny...I don’t “reject” Palin, I happen to really like her. One thing I’ve learned in my many years is that some people are awesome head coaches and some are awesome assistant coaches, to use an analogy. I don’t see Sarah as a head coach. You obviously disagree. It’s a free country. Certainly if she’s the nominee, I’ll vote for her over Obama, but I don’t think there is any way on God’s green earth she can beat him. I hope I am wrong.

I’d much prefer a more “serious” candidate, whether that is real or perceived, for the GOP. Too many people do not view her as serious. Leaving her state (quitting or leaving due to lawsuits, whatever) is going to call many people into question about her. So they were suing her, a lot of people would say it shows what kind of mettle she has. The Clintons were in serious financial shape as well, but they kept at it and didn’t quit. The American people want someone that will stick it out.

Besides, she’s so good at doing what she does now, why not keep doing it? She can hammer on liberals, make a good living doing it. She is so polarizing, she cannot win and that’s the problem that people here don’t understand.

A polarizing figure like Palin is not going to attract enough independents. I know, because I’m not a Democrat or a Republican. I lean strong conservative, but I’m also a pragmatist. She simply cannot win the General Election and I think most Republicans know this in their heart of hearts.

Note that I corrected my post (see the one that followed), but I guess that one had gone through. I had meant to refer to 2008.

-"...simply quit."

Bogus and shallow reason that masquerades other reasons. Why? Because, other Governors have not finished out their terms and resigned as well, but Palin has to be singled out. Why? Because people don't want to see a wrecking-ball hit Wash DC? They prefer to elect 'other elites', who 'talk the talk' but don't 'walk the walk'. Or quite simply, they fall for 'speeches' and 'hear what they want to hear', or simply have swallowed the LSM propaganda lock stock and barrel.

She did. You just choose to ignore it and peddle your dribble.

If Palin doesn't run, she will have absolutely no, NO, credability. She won't be able to influence anything, as most of her supporters will 1) feel let down 2)not care what she says/writes 3)have to find someone else to 1/2 heartedly support; if that.

On the other side of this coin, the MSM, Dems, elitists of every brand, and those who now call for her to be a "cheerleader"/"king maker"/ or whatever else they say will now say, and rightly so, that she is a nobody, a has-been, and should be ignored; though they will keep on berating her and her family. By not entering the fray, Palin will legitimize every single bad thing, including the lies and caricatures that has been madeup about her, for the past 3 years.

Palin is NOT a "good assistant coach". But then, you and I don't appear to agree on anything much on this topic.

You want a " more serious candidate"? Okay, just who is more serious than Palin? I really want to know who you believe is "more serious" and BTW..........what lies in that person/s closet/s that can be used against them? If you don't know about the scandals/things that can be turned into a cause celebre, then you'd better hold on tight, should your chosen candidate get the GOP nomination!

Supposedly Reagan couldn't win the primaries, let alone the general election and he was also supposedly "polarizing". I am NOT saying that Palin is Reagan reincarnate; just posting a fact you have ignored.

Lets talk about all of the GOP candidates, declared and undeclared maybes, shall we? And that means comparing every single one of them, with just the facts.....no polls, no anecdotal stories about how so and so won't vote for a woman/Palin/whatever; just CVs. Deal?

This particular one is a sad case. He hangs around the Palin threads and makes his nasssty comments, is pretty vacuous, has some kind of failed life story, and has attached himself to an anti-Palin posse...

He's been around a while. I can remember back when he was even semi-coherent.

Don't know what got into him, but he was somehow drawn to our local misfit bunch, and found his real home with them.

Someone (Finny?) postulated that Jim Rob is allowing the PDSers to stay on board, just so that regulars and lurkers can see for themselves how unhinged and unreasoning these people are. In her way of looking at it, he's doing more to help Sarah by letting them spew their bile, than by silencing them.

Interesting take, and there is a certain logic to it. Once she wins the nomination, though, I don't know that Jim will go so easy on them. That'll probably be the point of zero tolerance for any further displays of Palin derangement on the site.

And now he’s trying to justify his delusions as well and displaying a persecution complex. Then there’s his projection.

It’s funny that he started this round off just like last week on another thread when he got in over his head with his “duty to serve’ nonsense. And just like that thread he won’t stay on point, just hops around making wild claims and ducking questions. Now he’s got a few other anti-palin types (too early to diagnose the dreaded PDS there yet) playing into this persecution complex.

And still the question is unanswered. Why, if you have a dislike of SP for whatever reason, are you so shocked and offended that her supporters disagree with you and point out any logical fallacies in the arguments you make? Why does it surprise that when you start acting like a twit that people treat you like one?

No, we get “TM” and “Cultist” and “Palinista” and other schoolyard crap. I’ve said it repeatedly. Don’t like her? great! Want to discuss it like an adult? Fantastic, let’s do that. Act like a child having a tantrum, get treated like one.

But since SOL and company have to resort to Option 3, Lord Soros wisely provided us with the Ferraris, the Audis and the doublesupersecret whistles on our decoder rings to handle it. We of the Soros For Palin Attack and Destroy Patrol lie in wait, for 13 years if required, to unleash the psychic attack dogs for truth, justice, and the will of the Goddess Sarah!

God these people really are nuts.

I don't want to read the entire thread. Can you give me a brief explanation of that post?

In short, Sickoflibs is operating under the delusion that I, Windflyer and Lakeshark are part of some secret cabal funded by Newsweek and Soros to come on Palin threads and fight against PDSers to help her get elected because thats what Soros and the MSM want.

Don’t ask me. That’s the ‘logic’ at work here. We are just playing along to make him happy.

The whole ‘lightning rod’ theory is probably about right. As long as they’re tied up here (or on whatever particular thread) going in circles, they aren’t doing any real damage to anyone but themselves. Makes sense.

You three have the same script: attack, accuse, name-call, slander, make up, ... drive off.

You really think there's a coordinated effort to take you out? Don't flatter yourself.

If you can't see that you yourself are drawing every stinging rebuke that comes your way, then your observational skills are even worse than I thought.

Here, I'll give you one free clue. Snark and ridicule is something far different than honest disagreement, and most alert adults can spot that difference in roughly six nanoseconds.

You want the dogs to stop going for your jugular every time you enter the room? Just keep your commentary to honest disagreement or doubt, and the dogs will stay under the table.

There you go. Don't say that I never tried to help you.

I think we can safely say he/she is fairly delusional and exhibits paranoid tendencies far above the norm.......

If it were me, I frankly would have taken my lumps and walked away by now, but this one is like a little energizer bunny. He/she/it is exhibiting some sort of full-blown mania with their PDS.

I'm not sure what's wrong with that poster, but something's not normal. I'm pretty close to just ignoring it.

I agree. She’s running.

I’ve been telling my friends so since I saw the cover of her book. She was wearing a running suit. Funnily enough, she’s wearing running gear in the magazine cover too. She’s telling us she’s running.
