I was thinking the same thing. Looking at it, I’m reminded of a line from a Pied Piper of Hamlin poem that we had to study in school. “Come on, piper, do your worst! Blow your pipe till you burst!” They did their worst, and she still looks pretty good.
Thank you for the pings! The list took a a little while to post! It’s pretty big!
GO SARAH!
I think she looks tough as nails in the Newsweek pic. And her hands and arms are from working the fishing boat.
I find this VERY interesting:
ALL previous pictures I’ve seen on ALL magazine covers,
have highlighted Sarah’s good looks, if not inherent glamor
and ‘youthfullness”.
THAT was in a different era, apparently: all of that was meant to immply that
she SHOULDN’T win. (too good looking)
This NEWSWEEK cover is the only I’ve seen where Sarah looks her age, and is supposed to look her age, and the glamor seems stripped from her.
MESSAGE STILL, with the caption “I CAN WIN” is
SHE SHOULDN’T WIN.(not good looking enough)
Of course they did. You don't think they want her perfect face on the cover of their biased magazine do you? We can expect all sorts of unflattering pictures of our Sarah when she runs. But then, think of what we have done to obama. Fair game when you accept a role of power. That's okay, we have her back.
Take a lesson, sphinctimus grandé.
;^\/
No photoshop here or shenanicans.
The lady's tough as nails.
I don’t think the stresses of the Presidency impact those who are capable. They’re used to crisis management, and don’t doubt themselves because they’re used to doing the right thing. Case in point, Ronald Reagan.
I for one love the masculine features of Sarah Palin. GOP needs SOMEONE with balls.
Why do I have a feeling that whatever they write in the article will be negative or at best damning with faint praise?
“Just 16 days until the statute of limitations runs out for the Alaska notroots to file their endless bogus ethics lawsuits.”
Huh?
See my post #46 which I posted before scrolling through these earlier posts and reading yours.
You noticed it too.
I am not even sure they do this stuff intentionally; I think the choices they make are just second nature to them.
astute observation.
Yep. That photo op definitely proves that Palin () will make a great POTUS. /sarc
Nail on head!
Actually, there is: she has to consider Perry's timeline, as well as Bachmann's rise, which is already impacting the availability of staff and the potential to raise money. The more she waits the less room she has to maneuver, because her opponents in the GOP nomination race are not the press or the Democrats but the other GOP candidates.
It would force every aspect of every thing she does to fit into campaign law. The bus tour would have been impossible.
How would the bus tour have been impossible? Bachmann is doing a bus tour of Iowa right now. The only thing that would have changed is that she would actually be touring states that matter to the Republican nomination.
If this was the 1980 election,, Reagans announcement would still be several months away. November 13th.
Except that campaigns have changed a lot since 1980.
Sarah, we are great admirers of you and your philosophy. Unfortunately, you ran for VP before your were ready. You went on TV and debated an idiot who could make up lies and re write history faster than you could counter. As a result you became a lightening rod. Back Bachmann and negotiate a position in her admin and we all win ! Then you will be ready to run and WIN....
