Dems to spin Fast & Furious probe into gun-control rally

After yesterday’s news of the deal between Senators Pat Leahy and Charles Grassley to get documents and testimony from ATF chief Kenneth Melson on Operation Fast and Furious, it seemed as though Democrats might finally take the scandal of the gunrunning fiasco seriously. Alas, Elijah Cummings and House Democrats appear uninterested in abuses of government power, incompetence, and potential cover-ups at AFT and the Department of Justice. In fact, they want to turn the probe into an argument for expanding government control of firearms:

The top Democrat on a House investigative committee is broadening an inquiry into a botched gun-tracing operation, called Operation Fast and Furious, to include a look at American gun laws. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the leading Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, released a report early Thursday titled “Outgunned,” that details how Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents say gun laws need to be tightened for them to fight organized crime along the U.S.-Mexico border

It was always on the agenda for the Dems to bring gun control into it...Heck, that’s what the gun-running operation was created for...manufacture a problem and then point to it, going see see? This is why we need gun control.

The fact they are trying to reinforce the notion that Gunwalker was about more gun control is an indication to me that something else is involved.

Somebody was being armed up for a reason, and it's not just gun control.

The fact info was recovered from UBl’s compound clearly showing terrorist attacks are being planned and orchestrated around events in the news (just one example is the dems orchestrated stories about the right wingers wanting to assassinate Zippo, and UBL comes up with a plan to assassinate Zippo) we now have Adam Gadan calling for terrorist attacks using guns bought through the bogus claim of Gun Show Loophole.

They are no longer trying to hide the fact terrorist attacks are being planned around news events, they are trying to convince everyone the terrorist are simply picking up on what's in the news and planning an attack around it, when in reality the dems are orchestrating the news for the attacks to be planned around.

I think they've been arming up the terrorist across the border with American weapons, not the drug cartels.

The drug cartels don't need American weapons, they can get all the weapons they want from other countries.

Held accountable should mean jail time at a minimum. These are capital crimes we are talking about. Losing ones job doesn't begin to cover it.

At a minimum Eric Holder, William Newell, Ron Weich, and Kenneth Melson, broke or ordered to be broken, state laws, multiple federal laws, international small arms treaties, and Mexican laws. All of this for the sake of depriving Americans of their 2nd amendment rights which is, in and of itself, a crime. Further by ordering all of these laws to be broken they were intentionally arming sworn enemies of the United States.

They have broken enough laws that if they actually had to face justice like us little people they would have to talk very fast to escape the death penalty.

I doubt anyone south of the border needs arms as they are readily available.

What if Al Qaeda terrorists used US firearms to conduct another Beslan or Mumbai attack inside the US where the terrorists get killed, but their weapons are left behind and traced back to US firearm dealers.

The dealers would claim the BATFE forced those sales to straw buyers. The straw buyers would be arrested and say that they sold the firearms at a gun show, opening the door for new gun laws.
