DEVELOPING: The man in custody for carrying a backpack with "suspicious items and products" inside Arlington National Cemetery overnight is a U.S. Marine Corps reservist, military and law enforcement sources tell Fox News.
Yonathan Melaku, a Lance Corporal Marine corps reservist who lives in Virginia and who is Muslim, has been identified as the suspect in custody, Fox News has learned.
Sources close to the investigation also said a notebook believed to belong to the man was found containing threatening phrases like "Al Qaeda," "Taliban rule" and "defeated coalition forces."
Taquiyya
Look, Old Devil Dog. The msm can say anything......take all this with a grain of salt.....
Fer sure I want to talk to the recruiter who signed this “weakest link” up for the Corp. And BTW as a LCpl he’s either been thru basic or is in an officers program. Any body know which it is?
I saw the headline and thought, lemme guess, another muzzie.
Got it...
Profiling for what? Anti gay recruits maybe. Common sense is dead.
According to a recent study, over 81% of mosques in America approve of violent jihad.
81% of ANYTHING is a big chunk of the total.
I am sure the other 19% approve of violent jihad, but just won’t say so in a survey....Taqiyyah, you know.
And I don't think he is the only one. I believe there could be sleepers in all the branches of the Military.
Thanks for your info regarding background checks. I'm glad that they do such detailed interviews for folks who get top level security clearance.
But this isn't the Military of MacArthur or Patton. We have Mullen and the PC squad. They are responsible for Major Hassan. They are responsible for this latest terrorist. God forbid we have another Fort Hood but with PC idiots in charge I wouldn't be shocked.
True. When we have to recruit anyone we can find to fight our wars the decline has begun...
didn't see that coming
“Investigators and bomb-sniffing dogs were seen sifting through his family’s home in Fairfax County on Friday.”
Fairfax county? Wow. The wealthiest county in the country.

Chances are good he had a very wealthy childhood.
moozlum credo:
I love you. I will kill you and your family. Boom! Slash!
He doesn’t look like a Marine. My son is a Marine.
I’ve never seen a Marine with such droopy shoulders.
I never got “black Muslims” at all.
Criminal waivers soared under George W. Bush, but plunged again after Barack Obama took office. Any idea how long this guy has been in, and whether he had a record prior to the May arrest?
Just for the record, Loudon County has surprassed them.
You can access Arlington Cemetery by climbing over a low brick wall that is outside a military installation. The military ID would give presumably give him access to Fort Myer, which abuts the cemetery. If so, he could have parked the car inside the base without arousing suspicion. If he left the car in a no parking area outside Fort Myer + outside the cemetery, he’s an airhead, besides being a jihadi.
It sounded as if he was crouching inside the cemetery in the middle of the night. Good job by whoever noticed him.
I'm guessing that this is what the perp was going to write with the "inert substance" in his backpack.
Alexandria and Arlington have many run-down and public housing areas, and lots of small townhouses. Fairfax County is enormous, and what I might term a sanctuary county, awash in illegal immigrants and legal immigrants who choose to isolate themselves in groups rather than assimilating into American culture. Except insofar as they can take advantage of it. I’m all for legal, responsible immigrants who embrace what America stands for, but theres no effort to distinguish them before they are here. This guy is an example of how PC lib policies put us in danger. Which is why we won’t be hearing much more about him.
