WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama plans to create a special advisory council to recommend ways to boost the economic outlook and quality of life for the estimated 60 million people who live in rural areas of the U.S., a White House official said.
Obama was expected to sign an executive order Thursday establishing the White House Rural Council and naming Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, of Iowa, to be its chairman.

This is so ridiculous. Most state’s now have their own ‘economic councils’ and in fact, a state that I own farm land in, just had some group do a economic study in the very rural area that my farm is in about 6 years ago. It cost the state millions of dollars and nothing...zip,zero,nada has ever come of it. In fact, when I contacted some of the folks a year ago(including a sitting congressman...Bennie Thompson)) inquiring about what came of it...no-one ever called me back.
My guess is that they want to find more ways to take more money from the rural areas for our ever increasing marxist government.
Yep. That’ll get this God-Fearing, Bible-Toting, Gun-Loving Patriot to vote for you. Not.
I fail to see how anything he has to offer would enhance my life, either! :)
Awesomeness. I could live my entire life and be content to never leave the midwest. One of my great grandfathers came from Austria and settled in Benoit. Another great great grandfather came from Germany and settled in Mancelona Michigan.

My family of origin, too. Austria to upstate rural New York, to Milwaukee, WI. By the 70’s we all started moving further afield and never looked back. If you’ve ever been to Germany, Wisconsin’s geography is eerily similar.
It’s just such a pretty state, politics aside, of course! :)
My ears perked up right away, having read this article post last night.
Connecting the dots, Garner and her hubby have GOT to be on that intertwined Obama council that got outed mostly by Glenn Beck about a year ago.
Remember when teachers were having their young students make posters and sing Obama songs and the NEA was involved and CELEBS were being tapped and a phone call about organizing was taped and outed? I'm trying to remember the rest of it but I can't think this morning...need coffee.
Anyway...I'm sure that this Jennifer Garner appearance on F&F a few minutes ago was part of this Obama-tenticals-into-rural-America grab...in patnership with FRIGIDAIRE.
Bump!
Cool find! Oh, yeah - you can’t swing a dead cat in these parts without hitting one of us Krauts, LOL!
Okay, I have had it. Please, someone stop this fool before it is too late.
Obama and that dork Vilsack are not capable of improving anyones lives.
Ping to something fishy.
You can be guaranteed that any government “help” under 0bama will be “steered” to “Holder’s people”.

Farmer's tan just makes them look that way.
B@st@rd Bammy.
It ain’t just Zer0 who wants us into more easily controlled “sustainable communities.” Both houses of Congress would be more than happy to see it happen. The Rats want it done yesterday while the Repubicans (not a typo) will settle for some years down the road.

Everything about Obama is fishy.
We have a neighborhood un-welcoming committee. Let's dance.
Thanks for the ping above. Sounds fishy alright. Not sure about a FReeper rural list, but this link and forum keeps up with alot of stuff going on:

We don’t live in a rural area anymore but still have farm interests in Ms. and La., so I try to keep up with what the damn government is doing at all times...lol! If you guys start a list, please let me know. We lived on a farm for about 8 years and I loved it.....had a huge garden, catfish pond, starry nights, bonfires and fireworks when-ever we pleased! I miss it.
