A Wisconsin judge has struck down a law taking away nearly all collective bargaining rights from most state workers.
Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi ruled Thursday that Republican legislators violated Wisconsin's open meetings law during the run up to passage. She says that renders the law void.

She’s not going anywhere. She’s elected by the voters of Dane County...the center of lunacy in this fine State.
Her son works for the Union lobby.
Normally this would be called “conflict of interest”, but not in Obamaland.
Now pay your taxes, they need raises. :)
Right - and she was recently re-elected; however, she ran unopposed.
Wisconsin Freeper Ping!
As always, if you wish off my ping list just let me know through FreepMail. Thanks!
Compromised liberal judges NEVER recuse themselves because their whole reason for becoming judges is to advance marxism against the will of the people.
Just another commie thug judge.
Jesus Christ himself could run against her and would get absolutely trounced...now that the Dane County liberals know that they can block the will of the people of an entire State by putting in liberal judges the battle will be between liberal and moonbat crazy in future elections.
Can only hope this infuriates enough people that we take more seats during the recalls.
As just mentioned on radio...you can bet that Kloppenburg calls for judicial review of ballots in Waukesha Co to get the Brookfield votes thrown out.
What is the point of our 4-3 conservative edge on the Wisconsin Supreme Court if they won’t intervene here and slap this union thug judge down? They’ve had months to step in and stop Sumi from continuing with her attempts to subvert democracy but have done absolutely nothing.
The 4 conservatives on the Wisconsin Supreme Court should have stepped in many weeks ago and taken care of this. Why haven’t they?
So can the Republicans ignore this voiding of law just like the feds are on Obamacare?
Legislation by a black robed mafia.
We had an election is what got in the way and the SSC was not in session.
Although Prosser’s election was certified by the GAB it is quite likely that Kloppy take this to court tomorrow. The justice who decides which judge takes the case in Dane County? The Ultra Liberal Chief Justice who Kloppy worked under! They will delay as long as they can to get to the recall elections (which is their next gambit) and if they do not get the results they want there I can guarantee you that they will try to have the Brookfield votes which put Prosser over the top completely thrown out.

U.S. Supreme Court orders California to release a third of its prisoners, about 32,000. California has around 142,000 felons and has already released 9,000.
Justice Antonin Scalia called the decision staggering and absurd and warns that terrible things are sure to happen. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. said the ruling conflicted with a federal law intended to limit the power of federal judges to order a release of prisoners.

Seventh U.S. Circuit Court: Chicago Fire Department must hire 111 blacks that passed the exam 16 years ago and payout about $30 million to thousands more black people that took the same test.
In 1995, the Fire Department randomly hired 1800 people that scored 89 or better. It was argued that had the random selection included everyone that scored above the original passing goal of 64, more blacks would have been selected.

Open meetings are not union meetings.
I wanted to get all ramped up about this, but there’s really no point anymore. I’ll just vote in my recall election (hopefully Darling will win) vote in the expected 2012 Walker recall election and then vote in the 2013 Darling recall election again. Rinse, wash, repeat and hope that voters Statewide punish the Dems evey time another of these occur. Frankly I doubt it.
All this is proving is that the State of WI has a serious need to update the State Constitution with a Convention to make the rules less open for interpretation and in turn less vulnerable to manipulation by the left.
Any other thoughts?
This has gotten very tiring. And short of burning down the houses of all these activists and running them out of the State what else can be done? (I kid here)
When they passed the law and this issue came up like two days later, I couldn’t understand at the time why they didn’t simply advertise a session so well there would be no way to raise this objection, pass the same bill again, and have it signed again by the governor. If this is the best they have, it seemed like it would be an easy way to defang it.
Riiiight....because when a LIBERAL thinks an election's in the bag, it's not right to take it away from them, even with legitimate votes. When you're a lib stealing a conservative victory, OTOH, sky's the limit!
Could someone explain to me how a “county” circuit judge has jurisdiction over the entire WI state legislature?
