A GOP Plan To Disfranchise Democratic Voters in 2012?
National Review: The Corner ^ | 05/18/2011 | Peter Kirsanow

Posted on 05/18/2011 12:49:16 PM PDT by BuckeyeTexan

In today’s USA Today, former DNC interim chair Donna Brazile claims that Republicans are trying to block voters from the polls and reduce the voting rights of ”Democratic-leaning Americans.” She asserts that Republicans are passing state ballot integrity laws — such as voter photo-ID requirements – to limit the participation of minority voters, the young, and the poor (purported Obama voters) heading into the 2012 elections. Brazile asks, ”Do we really want to see Florida’s 2000 election controversy replayed?”

Expect to see lots more of this leading to the presidential election. The 2000 presidential election produced voluminous claims of rampant voter intimidation, suppression, and harassment in Florida. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights investigated these claims over a six-month period immediately after the election. The Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department also conducted a separate investigation.

Despite numerous allegations suggesting widespread voter intimidation, suppression, and harassment, the Commission’s investigation produced just two ostensible instances of perceived voter intimidation. Were there voting problems in Florida? Sure, as in every election. But the Justice Department found no credible evidence that Floridians were intentionally denied the right to vote.

In contrast, a subsequent media analysis showed that at least 2000 votes were cast illegally in Florida in the 2000 presidential election. Since the margin of victory in Florida was 537 votes, the fraudulent votes were sufficient to affect the outcome of the election.

That’s not an isolated example. Evidence adduced at various commission hearings suggests numerous instances of actual voter fraud. The cases involve organizations and individuals who register ineligible voters, dead people, and fictional characters. In an infamous Ohio case during the 2004 presidential election campaign, a canvasser paid with crack cocaine registered Dick Tracy, Mary Poppins, and scores of other equally noteworthy characters.

Again, these aren’t isolated cases. A major 2001 voter registration drive in St. Louis’s black community produced 3,800 new voter cards. When some of the names appeared suspicious, elections officials investigated all of the cards and determined that every single one was fraudulent. Dogs, the dead, and people who simply didn’t want to register were among the new registrants.

The problem isn’t only that canvassers are being paid to produce manifestly fraudulent voter registrations; it’s also that voter rolls throughout the country are being padded with hundreds of thousands of false and fraudulent names. For example, testimony by John Sample before the Senate Rules Committee showed that Alaska had 503,000 people on its voter rolls but only 437,000 people of voting age in the entire state. Before the last presidential election, 140,000 Florida voters were registered in multiple jurisdictions.

This isn’t a minor concern. The 1998 Miami mayoral election actually had to be set aside due to rampant absentee-ballot forgeries.

Voter fraud isn’t the imaginary phenomenon some claim it to be. Brazile bemoans the the expense of voter ID requirements ($10 million over four years in Indiana, according to her). Given the closeness of so many recent elections that could’ve been decided by fraudulent ballots, is $10 million per state too much to spend on improving election integrity?

I think the most important part of our Michigan GOP tsunami in the last election was the election of a secretary of state with a taste for fraudster blood.

Ruth Johnson made a name for herself as a county commissioner fighting ACORN fraud in 08 and fake tea party/democrat fraud in 2010.

I'd be interested in looking at some of your fraud documentation, if you have any links handy.

Can you think of any way of documenting it James O'Keefe style? I sure would like to try.

The rat party would be the expert at finding ways to deny voting given their century of experience at doing just that.

She [Donna Brazile] asserts that Republicans are passing state ballot integrity laws — such as voter photo-ID requirements – to limit the participation of minority voters, the young, and the poor (purported Obama voters) heading into the 2012 elections.

She can assert anything she wants.
Implicit in her assertion is that certain people are too stupid to perform certain simple tasks; like feeding themselves. But they are normal enough to vote. This makes no sense.

There are only two possibilities : either Brazile is a retard, or she is convinced the rest of us are.

Until she provides adult reasons or explanations as to how exactly presenting ID limits participation in anything, I will continue to assume she is a retard, regardless of her skin color.

Don't these people have to provide ID when buying alcohol? when buying cigarettes? Entering casinos? Cashing welfare checks? Applying for a loan? Attending a new school?

Only those who wish to steal an election would be against providing your ID to show you can vote. That way they can only vote once and if legally able to do so.

The liberals/dems only want to allow people to vote for them dozens of times and to them it doesn’t matter if they are legal or not. Well, it might if the vote is for a Conservative.

Dems can’t win elections unless they do so by theft.

I would be all for straight up voter disenfranchisement. You get Welfare, AFDC, SSDI, you don't get to vote. Oh and throw in you can't be a renter and let's jack the age to 25 while we are at it. This country would transform in 2 election cycles, we would put the brakes on the worthless moochers and parasites voting themselves more lavish benefits. I am sure Pelosi would even lose her district. Will it happen? nah. More liekly a serious social upheaval is coming with the country going broke and we have some sort of military junta taking over at the civilian government cannot keep order, think RoboCop or Judge Dread type society. We are Rome in the 5th century, teetering, bloated, decadent and corrupt.

It's very interesting to see the Limousine Liberals cry about how hard it is for so may people to get the photo ID needed to vote. Yet the answer is right under their fat butts: a variation of Get Out The Vote! Cart those underpriveledged people (make sure they have their proper birth certificates or proof of citizenship) to wherever they need to go to get their photo ID. Contribute any fee that the DMV or whomever charges for the card.

Of course, that raises the issue of how to be able to permit people to vote more than once, or vote without a pulse, or vote without going through the formality of becoming a citizen, or vote while underage. How about the multiple-residence dodge? Too bad.

Due to unprecedented interest in the 2012 presidential election, democrats are to vote (along with their dead and illegals) on Wednesday the 7th of November.

I signed an affidavit for the Clinton campaign that documented what I witnessed and experienced at my precinct caucus. I’ll try to dig it up and send it to you.

At the precinct caucus, I was elected as a Clinton delegate to the Senatorial District caucus. Most of the things ACORN and the Obama thugs did were done in such a way that the Clinton delegates didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late to do anything about it.

One small example: Clinton delegates in my precinct received no communication from the Texas Democratic Party (TDP) regarding where and when the Senatorial District Caucus (SDC) would be held. We emailed TDP officials and were told that due to the high turnout at local precints, they needed a larger venue for the SDC and that we’d be notified by the local precinct chariman when the location was determined. The local chair was an Obama delegate. We weren’t notified. (He later claimed he didn’t have our contact information, which was a lie.) Those of us who wanted to attend had to figure out where the SDC was being held (months later) on our own. Of the 9 Clinton delegates and 9 alternates, 4 of us showed up at the SDC. The TDP officials (wearing Obama t-shirts and buttons) wouldn’t give us contact information for the other Clinton delegates so we could call them to get them to come to the SDC. The TDP bylaws required them to release the information, but we didn’t know that. All of the 13 Obama delegates and 13 alternates showed up. Because we didn’t have enough people to fill our spots (to vote), the Obama alternates took our remaining spots & votes. It was 22 against 4. We had no say. Our votes were useless. We left the caucus early. So the Obama alternates got all 9 of our votes. When I confronted the local chair about the whole mess, he claimed that the Obama campaign, through ACORN had taught a training class about being a delegate to the SDC. I asked why the Clinton delegates were not invited. He claimed the Obama lawyers and ACORN trainers instructed them not to for legal reasons. I asked what legal reasons there could possibly be for excluding half of the precinct’s delegates from training if were just training. He said that the lawyers’ position was that since the training was given by Obama people, they were concerned about claims of voter intimidation should the Obama people teach or say anything that offended the Clinton delegates.

There was so much more that happened. Legal challenges to Clinton delegates were a big part of their game at the SDC. Essentially, the Democrats run their scams in the areas that they control. They must have the cooperation of local party officials, judges, and attorneys (for challenges.) They prepare way in advance and it runs like clockwork. Before the opposition knows what hit them, it’s too late to do anything about it. I don’t see any way for O’Keefe to document it unless he infiltrates the local house meetings that the Obama campaign will be holding very soon (if not now), which is where they’ll discuss and work out their plans.

Republicans just show up to vote. They don’t organize.

Ahahah!!!

So Donna Brazile is saying Democrats need voter fraud to win. While she is also saying minority voters, the young and poor are incapable of bothering to register the vote and verifying their identity. What a racist she is.

This country would transform in 2 election cycles, we would put the brakes on the worthless moochers and parasites voting themselves more lavish benefits.

Let's see --- My first vote was in 1980 - I was in college and still lived at home. I moved into an apartment, in another state, in 1982 when I got out of school. I moved back into an apartment when I got divorced in 1988. I bought my first house in 1992, my second, in yet again another state in 2003. In late 2009 I broke down and applied for food stamps, when after more than a year my husband and I could not get regular work and every penny we were making was going to keep the roof over our head and the power on and food in our daughter's belly and clothes on her ever growing back. It was damned hard for me to do that.

That first vote I cast was for Ronald Reagan and in all the ensuing years I have served on my local GOP committees, including serving as an officer more than once and delegate to the state GOP convention 8 years running. I've been a FReeper in good standing and have participated in my fair share of FReeps. I've worked at the grass roots level since before I ever even heard of the internet.........

And you're all for straight up voter disenfranchisement of me.

Thanks.

Donna Brazile is probably a fairly wealthy woman. Why doesn’t she offer to reimburse anyone for the cost of getting legitimate identification so they can show it at the polling places? I’ll bet plenty of poor disenfranchised people would be thankful.

She can put her money where her mouth is or STFU.

But we all know that she’s all about making it easy for the dems to perpetrate fraud to steal elections.

The left is always whining, whenever these ballot integrity laws are proposed, that there isn’t any voter fraud.

Really?

OK, then there should be no difference in outcome when these laws are enforced.
