CNN’s Don Lemon says he’s gay
Atlanta Journal Constitution ^ | May 16, 2011 | Rodney Ho

CNN’s Don Lemon, who last year stunned audiences when he said he was molested as a child, has revealed he is gay.

Lemon, 45, has a new memoir coming out called “Transparent.” He told Bill Carter of the New York Times of the inherent risks of coming out as a news personality.

I guess I just don’t get it.

I don’t care if he is gay. Really. Men have been gay for eons. I don’t hate them. I pray for them.

I would no more discuss my sexual preferences, what I like, what I don’t like, what I do with my wife, than I would cut off my own foot. It is between she and I.

Its not your business and certainly not my employers business.

I, in fact, have had employees come into my office to declare their “gayness.” I would always look at them with a confused look. The I would ask if there was anything else they “felt” they needed to share with me. If no, I would just say, OK.

Perhaps they feel that where they put their penis is so important to them, that it should be important to me. It just isn’t. And really, I don’t want to think about his penis, and where he puts it. It just isn’t important.

The sad thing is that the vast majority of self-proclaimed homosexuals have had some form of traumatic sexual abuse in their childhood. How long are we going to allow the homosexual community to suppress this fact?

"Vast majority?" I think you overstate the case.

However large the sub-population of homosexuals molested as children, it's clearly not the determining factor in establishing sexual identity.

homosexual practitioners would be setting you up for a discrimination suit by such a declaration.

It has ALWAYS been an abnormal practice.

Even the ancient athenians (yes those athenians) would stone anyone to death if they were caught/proven to be with a minor. (adults were exiled)

It seems easier to say who is the one straight person on CNN rather that id all the homosexuals in front or behind the camera.

It is one of those “statistics” things.

I wonder what the percentage of gay men that have been molested is compared to the overall population of men.

Or better yet, do the molesters target effeminate boys because their are either in their environment more, or because they are more susceptible. So, if there is a big percentage of gay men molested as boys it is an environmental thing: For example, as young boys there were a couple of suspected “diddlers” in the community. All of the boys that played together (sports, scouting etc.) kept each other safe. The boys that did not play with the group were the ones more likely to find themselves in trouble.

I would love to see a study done on that. Seriously.

It seems to be one of those things where people see an “effect” and “conclude” a cause where there is not one.

I am sure there are studies in some clinical journal about this stuff.

Was this the guy that was on the anchor desk the day that Chicago lost the 2016 Olympic bid? The one that kept incredulously saying “Chicago’s out? Chicago’s out?”

Perhaps they feel that where they put their penis is so important to them, that it should be important to me. It just isn’t. And really, I don’t want to think about his penis, and where he puts it. It just isn’t important.

Gays coming out reminds me of something I was taught in an acting class in college (I was a theatre major):

Every character that you plays also plays several characters. for example, Hamlet in scenes with his mother plays the part of a son. With Ophelia, he plays the part of a lover, etc. We do the same in our own lives. With our spouse, we can play the lover. With our kids, we play the parents. We can play the employee or manager while at work. It does not work if we mix up the roles and play them at the wrong time.

These gays who "come out" do not understand that they are playing the wrong role at the wrong time. If they want to be out front and gay, the place to do that is in the privacy of their homes.

At least the guy admits that he turned queer because he was molested by some faggot as a youth.

This born queer thing is a boatload.

Wow, and for his next little decorative ribbon in the Left Wing Universe of what is admirable, he’ll remind us that he is the descendant of slaves, after that, on to his addictions that he has “overcome”.....

Yeah, I guess so. It came with the territory: Just like never being alone with a female subordinate, at least with the door closed. Or traveling with a co worker and staying in the same hotel more than once.

I worked in a snake pit and I don’t miss that at all. I wish I was having all of the sex that people thought I was having! It was a determining factor in the decision to leave that job.

Yes, I know its homosexuality always been a taboo. That goes back to making sure there were plenty of babies to go around. Also, it was dirty—in the literal, bacteriological sense. Diseases can be traced back to the basis for a lot of taboo behavior. You just did not need that going through your village. Because it would.

I really try not to judge other folks, because I am not sure I could stand up to the same scrutiny of my life.

But, it goes back to just not wanting to know. That its none of my business.

My God, even the straight guys on TV have to kiss up to the Gay lobby. Are they that powerful?

But now, remember everyone, we are NOT supposed to make any connection between his being molested as a child as his declaring that he is gay as an adult.

Pure coincidence. Works the other way too - when gay men molest boys. Just a coincidence.

Looks like “Who is Don Lemon?” is the question of the morning. Is he new? I’ve never heard if the guy in my life. And who cares whether he’s gay? Does it make him any more or less credible? Does it affect the news? Does anyone care, other than other gay men?

Crikey, when will the homos just shut up about their sexuality? You never hear a straight person making a huge deal about their heterosexuality.

A guy who reads the news on the weekends writes a book to tell us he’s gay and was molested as a child, which confirms what the anti-gay movement has been saying forever: homosexuality is a sexual deviation, sometimes brought on by same sex molestation when young.

I'm not going to say that I agree with homosexually, but my nephew (he is 16) is gay. No, he was not molested as a child - matter of fact he is more CONSERVATIVE than I am.

And who on Earth even cares?!!! Anyone of these anchormen/anchorwomen could be who knows what. The biggest response I have to some people is the fact that I could care less about various matters outside of my personal business, so long as they stay out my personal business.
