WASHINGTON Only one of the five people killed in the raid that got Osama bin Laden was armed and fired a shot, a senior defense official said Thursday, acknowledging the new account differs greatly from original administration portrayals of a chaotic, intense and prolonged firefight. The sole shooter in the al-Qaida leader's Pakistani compound was quickly killed in the early minutes of the commando operation, details that have become clearer now that the Navy SEAL assault team has been debriefed, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record.

Wow a 20 minute “firefight” with one guy and a gun. He sounds like a badass. Well, sounded like a badass.
It will be years—if ever, before we learn what went on that day. This administration is built on lies and deception, and I don’t see that changing.
I didn't think ANYBODY could screw up the aftermath of killing bin Laden.
Shrug. I’ll ask Pat Tillman’s parents how accurate the DoD is when it comes to a narrative.
Yeah throw every unimaginable story out there, find out which ones stick, then make up a ‘official white house account’ of what happened.
Hollywood’s workin on it.

The SEALS did their job and politics couldn’t wait to mess it up!
All the different versions of this raid make releasing the photo of a dead OBL crucial.
Obviously they’re focus-grouping different versions of the story.
You know, if W had changed the tune so many times, you’d be hearing all kinds of cries of “Bush Lied and Osama Died” or some such business. In fact, in cases where Bush never changed his story, and British intelligence officials reiterated that what Bush said was exactly what they found to be true, the democrats still say Bush Lied.
I'm pretty sure the Military and the CIA would have wanted the raid and it's results kept secret at least for a few days to maximize the value of the intelligence obtained. But nooo, Obama had to have his touchdown spike right away.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I better see the photos before I give an opinion..
All Zero had to say was that we found bin Laden, special forces killed him and everything else is classified.
The body should have been brought back to the US and high-ranking military officers and senior Republican and Democrat politicians should have been allowed to examine it; a joint statement by an accepted bipartisan group saying they saw the body and DNA evidence would have satisfied the public almost as much as photos.
This is beginning to take on all the aspects of Obama's Birth Certificate fiasco.
I just want to know where Waldo was when this all happened.
Obama’s focus groups have ruined the narrative of a great job by the SEALS. They are trying to swing the story from the SEALS to Obama and they are failing miserably...
Some intense fire fight! :roll eyes:
Were the SEALS’s able to recover Bin Laden’s signed copy of Dreams From My Father?
Just curious.
Well now we have about 15 versions of the big take down. I don’t really care which one is true but you would think that the Director of the CIA and the Secretary of Defense could put together one cogent accurate report of the event. Its a sad commentary on an amateurish administration.
