It apparently didn't occur to the president that people for whom it is a hardship to pay a dollar more a gallon for gasoline can't afford to buy a new car.
The remark makes Mr. Obama sound clueless, or callous, or both, but most of the journalists who covered his visit to Gamesa Technology Corp. didn't report this exchange...
Gas prices have doubled since Barack Obama became president. With wages stagnant, unemployment high and food prices rising at the fastest rate since the 1970s, this imposes real hardship on many Americans.

They are protecting Obama.
Indeed, since most of them have to buy gas like the rest of us.
Of course they are protecting The One. The time has come to begin to ask questions about who in the media are on the Obama payroll?
They could not be this collectively ignorant by accident.
Obummer declares, “You will buy that POS electric car and like it. I will soon raise your energy bills so high you won’t be able to plug it in anyway. However, we will provide you with free rail service to the camps.”
The Bill and Weather Underground have provided the template. The clean and articulate one will implement the plan.
Will we get the picture in time?
People who have a hard time making ends meet generally don’t drive big, shiny gas-guzzling SUVs anyway, because they can’t afford them. They can’t afford a fancy hybrid, either, but they probably have one of those aging, medium-sized clunkers that Obama took such pleasure in destroying.
Sorry, Obie, we can’t all drive Volts, or Limos like yours.
No way the "mainstream" media would allow Bush to get away with saying something this outrageous. Can you imagine their outcry and attacks on Bush's elitism and for him being out of touch with the financial strains of most Americans?

Having my mid twenties children and friends over for the weekend, most Obama voters. They are pissed. I asked them whose fault it is and proceeded to explain the moratorium and then my daughter says, lift the moratorium or stop driving 15 SUV’s to every where you go and stop using Air Force One to gallivant all over the world and then you can tell us to stop driving to work.
The idiots where I work blame Bush and yell and shout over the top of any argument.
