I’ve gotta say that although I agreed with most of what he said and he stuck to what guns he had with Chrissy, he is a pale shadow of a man, soft spoken and slight looking.

He is quite small. His strength is being down-to-earth, his quick wittedness, and his intelligence on fiscal matters. He will have a hard time getting elected on looks alone....for sure.

He’d better stick to being governor. I feel shallow for saying this, but it’s how I feel.

Hey, at least you didn't go as far as Randy Newman. Short People

I’ve wondered about that so much. Why does Obama and the admin forestall every attempt to get our own energy.

If somebody figures out a new way to do it, they step in and attempt to put a stop to it.

Why?

What forces is he trying to appease? Is he really a muslim as some of us wackos have suggested and does he want to help the middle east ... who would be trying to sell sand if their oil markets dried up.

Radical environmentalists seem to be powerful, but how many of those people are there?

The general population wouldn’t care, or would be glad for the oil and jobs created by drilling, altho many of them are a little brainwashed that it would somehow (they don’t know how) hurt the environment.

Most of the places in Alaska where drilling is proposed are only seen by a few vultures.

Like you, I am totally puzzled by the enthusiasm with which Obama shuts down every possible way of getting our own resources.

Democratic movements can be hijacked, e.g., the Russian Revolution, the Weimar Republic, the Iranian Revolution, etc. It matters a great deal how it turns out. And if Saudi Arabia gets caught up in this wave of revolution, the global economy will go down the toliet, at least in the short run.

I get sick and tired of hearing the lie that Social Security will become insolvent in 3037. Social Security is insolvent NOW!

Hah! I’ve been humming that Randy Newman song ever since the short question came up. 5’7” isn’t THAT short but being thin along with it...

Did you know Randy Newman wrote the wonderful score for The Natural?

Every day Obie stays in office puts us farther away from the energy solutions you described. With every liberal judicial appointment and every EPA edict energy independence slips farther and farther away from our grasp.

The march to Middle Eastern servitude will continue unless and until the EPA is disbanded and the Endangered Species Act is repealed. This is the only way to take energy and economic decisions out of the courts and back with industry and the people.

As gas passes $4/gal the establishmedia is going to have a hard time singing his praises about the moratorium. This is a self inflicted starvation that needs exposure.

Absolutely, bray.

Obama wants us to go green entirely. The only way he can do that is to make sure the prices of conventional energy sources go thru the roof. It is the only way that renewable energy can be competitive. The problem with that is that it will kill our economy. Cheap energy is the lifeblood of any economy.

Thanks, AB, for the Mark Steyn link.

Steyn writes so beautifully. I love his “spoiled overclass” phrase for the “snarling thugs of Madison.”

I think you are right - every action Obama takes is for Obama not for the country. He parties while the world burns, he lies, flip flops, whatever it takes to make sure he can squeeze eight years as “king”.

Why does Obama and the admin forestall every attempt to get our own energy.

This is all about leveling the playing field. Obama resents America's past success. He has judged the unfairness of America's wealth. And he understands that it is the harnessing of energy that has been instrumental to America's rise above all others.

Obama's overall goal is worldwide equality of condition. He knows that because of the American model, other countries will never catch up, so the only way to achieve equality is to bring America down. At a time when ever-increasing worldwide demand has reached its highest point yet, he wants to ensure that America is equal with everyone else in standing in line to get our fair share. If we are energy independent, we will not have to suffer as does the rest of the energy-depleted world.

Obama has no problem with drilling in the Gulf, just so long as its Mexico, or Cuba, or China doing the drilling. Obama is not a product of the US. He is a product of the anti-US world community.

Gov Christie was great on CBS

Yes he was but he still had to kiss up to the Obamabots. He admires several things Obama has done. That said he handled Bob, the pompous old a$$, quite well. At one point he pointed out that the premise of one of the questions was incorrect.

He was wrong that no one has declared for the republican nomination. He also kinda waffled on the questions about (Sarah) not speaking "off script" and directly to the people. HUH?

No, I didn't. Seems most of his work has been as a film composer...Randy Newman ....I had no idea. Thanks, altura.

As soon as some lesser known conservatives declare, the picture will change dramatically.

Maybe Allen West?

[Referring to the dem legislators that left.....As soon as the dems got what they wanted (the bill died and assurances it won’t be brought up again this year), they issued more demands on other bills from a hottub (lol)]

Of course, they did. What did he expect?! It worked the first time, fool!

In my prime I was a little over 5'10". Over 50 I shrunk to 5'9". Now I'm less than that. A couple more years and I could hit 5'7".

I'm not really concerned with the loss in height. The problem is that the more I lose vertically, the more I gain horizontally...sigh.

I feel shallow for saying this,

Why?

I think you're right on all points. He's been a pretty good leader, he's smart, no doubt about it.

But he's not presidential material, he's just not.
