I just heard on WLS radio in Chicago that the Illinois Court of Appeals (the second-highest court in the state) overturned the recommendation of the electoral panel and ruled that Rahm Emanuel may NOT be on the ballot for Mayor. They ruled that he did not meet the statutory residence requirement nor did he meet any of the statutory exceptions.
Wow.

I know a few judges who can expect to receive rotting fish via the USPS.

Lol. So true. I wonder how many were judges ‘of color’.

He WILL be on it!
If nothing else, the past 3 years have taught me that LAWS only apply to us little people.
He has enough wealthy and influential friends to be above the law.
I will eat my hat if he is not on the ballot.

The Illinois Appellate Court ruled 2-1 against Rahm (Obama). It will now go to the Illinois Supreme Court which does NOT have to accept the case.
The Appellate overruled the Chicago Circuit Court. The majority said the election law means what it says....and Rahm didn't live in the city the past year. Plus, it stated that Rahm's defense did not match up to any exemptions to the law.
This a major blow to Obama's 2012 re-election campaign. He needs the Chicago Machine dead, illegal and multiple votes to win, and Rahm, the Dead Fish enforcer, is to be in charge of same.

I don’t know that it is a federal issue. It goes to the Illinois Supreme Court, and then they would have to find a federal issue in order to bring it to the US Supreme Court.

It goes to the Illinois Supreme Court, not the same one that Kagan and what’s her name are on.

That means the appellate court is supporting another candidate. Exactly...and maybe some of the Mafia thugs just arrested came into this play.

And I’ve heard that if it goes to the Illinois Supreme Court he’s more likely than not to get effed there, too.

Bad? I think it’s great. I’d rather see a blundering administration than a powerful political one tied in to Obama.
