Virginia legislators will consider whether to bar illegal immigrants from enrolling in state’s public colleges and universities.
Del. Christopher Peace’s bill would amend state law to explicitly prohibit people who are in the United States illegally from being admitted to Virginia’s public two-year or four-year institutions.
Several previous attempts to pass similar legislation in Virginia haven’t succeeded.
Federal law prohibits such people from paying in-state tuition at colleges and universities, but they can still pursue a public college education. Virginia’s public universities currently have the discretion to decide whether to admit illegal aliens as long as they charge out-of-state tuition.
South Carolina bars undocumented students from enrolling in public colleges, as have some Georgia institutions, and Alabama’s two-year colleges.
Wow, Northern Virginia Community College will see a decline of 50% in enrollments. It already looks like a hybrid of Yemen and El Salvador.
YES!!!!! VA is looking more and more attractive as a place to retire to.
BTW, most of the Hispanics there are El Salvadoran and are here legally, as are the Koreans, Thais, Viet Namese, Cambodians, Chinese, etc.
The people with the Irish brogues are probably NOT here legally.

It should be in EVERY school and school district in this Republic. No US birth certificate, no entry into school. Anchor babies should be included in that. In fact, every anchor baby of a family that was not legally in this country, IE: a visa issued to be here, should be stripped of that US citizenship. If mama ran across the border illegally to get said baby born here to be able to stay and collect benefits, the baby reverts to mama’s citizenship. No free ride.

We never could! Let them get visas and come legally and I have no problem with their attending but NOT ON MY DIME.

You, my friend Think Free, are more than welcome (coming from a born in VA, will die in VA - but raised in CA *barf* person). We need you here to prevent future insane moments like 2008 when the state went Obamanation. Be warned, though, we have a nasty state income tax rate that needs to be sliced back - glad to have your help.
(No North East lefties who have ruined their state and are now looking to ruin another need apply...)
