Rudy gearing up for DC run (Giuliani in 2012?)

Confident that he'd have a chance to win, Rudy Giuliani is rounding up his top political advisers for a possible 2012 presidential run.
Sources say the tough-talking former mayor "thinks the Republican race will be populated with far-right candidates like Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee, and there's opportunity for a moderate candidate with a background in national security."
Giuliani has even scheduled a trip to New Hampshire for next month to meet with constituents in the state that failed him in January 2008, when he placed fourth in the Republican presidential primary.
The problem is that even Rudy loyalists think it's a bad idea. "They think this is crazy," a source said. "They realize how long the odds are, but they are standing by."

I'd love a serious run by Fred. He's the real deal when it comes to conservatism, he's got gravitas and he's articulate.
His part in writing and heading the committee of the original Campaign Finance Reform, originally known as McCain-Feingold-Thompson, is unforgivable.
Politicians don't change their spots that easily.

Can Rudy run for Mayor again in NYC? If he is able to drive a snow plow, it should be an easy race for him.

Personally, I think that anyone who ran and lost in 2008 should just hang it up. We need fresh blood, not retreads.I agree. The 2008 losers will just become the Hubert Humphreys of the GOP. Rudy ran a terrible campaign in '08 anyway. Why does he think he'd do better in '12?

No, no, no, no, a thousand times - NO!
Didn’t we go through this crap last time, didn’t Rudy get the memo?

It was pathetic how many liberals were flushed out here on FR, supporting G-lib for president in 2008.

I’ve had enough of Rudy. He’s not going to be president, as 2008 should have proven to him. And where he could really help, by running for the senate or for governor of NY, well, he’s not interested in that. He’s just wants to be president.
Stay with your consulting business, Rudy.

I don't understand Hannity's fascination with him. Guli, his wife, and Hannity were on his show during the campaign and they almost appeared as if they were sharing a cigarette in bed together.
Admitting you are a RINO is shooting yourself in the foot on the starting line.
