USS Enterprise Capt. Owen Honors Temporarily Relieved of Duty
ABC News ^ | Jan. 3, 2011 | KIRIT RADIA

The U.S. Navy will temporarily relieve Capt. Owen Honors of his post pending investigation of the series of explicit videos he is said to have produced when he was second in command of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, sources tell ABC News.

Capt. Honors is under investigation for a series of raunchy videos in which he appeared from 2006 to 2007. The videos featured a series of skits that aimed to provide some humor during the long deployment at sea. At the time the videos were produced, the Enterprise was operating in support of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

But the skits were clearly offensive to many people. A leaked version of one video, first reported by the Virginian-Pilot newspaper on Saturday, contained derogatory references to homosexuals and was filled with profanity. At one point in the video, Honors introduces a scene in which two female sailors pretend to wash each other in the shower by saying that "chicks in the shower" were his "favorite topic."

I loathed ever tying to a tender.

Floating ghettos. And they wondered why I never returned their test gear. :-)

I manged to avoid mixed gender ships until my last ship. Not that I was making any particular effort, it just worked out that the ships I was asking for did not have women. When I finally did get to a mixed gender ship, the best I can say is that I did not have the impression that I had previously been deprived of something positive.

Yeh. Ever read Mister Roberts? Once upon a time a long, long time ago I was an instructor for Fleet Training Group. One of the junior officers on a ship that will not be named asked me to smuggle him out in my luggage. Yeech. Great food, though, and they always had first pick of the movies.

LOL.

Hot bunking will take on a multifaceted meaning now with women and homosexuals...

Privacy what little there was (your rack with curtain drawn) was respected -other than that everything else was not private. How in the hell do these clueless politically correct civilian social engineers think they will keep "human nature" at bay? We will see jealousy, contempt, love, hate vengeance etcetera rear its ugly head in what should be a disciplined environment...

I decided a short while ago not to use “homosexual” any more, just “faggot”. I could use “queer” but “faggot” is like “maggot” so there’s some poetic similarity. I still occasionally use “homosexual” but will stop. “Homo” is as polite as I’m going to get.

Filthy disease ridden queers is okay, too. FDRQ for short.

You'll NEVER see a woman on the pier loading stores...or "manning" a buffer. However, I have served with a LOAD of good women in the Navy. Most of them.

Ultimately the Navy is composed of technicians/engineers and managers. My understanding is that an E1 doesn't even chip paint and pour red lead anymore, that's all done by civilians in the yards or along the pier. Could be wrong, but that's the way I heard it:)

I have thrown Lt’s out of the radio/esm room for not having clearance when they tried to mess with me over piddly regulations.

I have told the Skipper we need to scrap surveillance and take the boat deep for maintenance.

In the first case with the Lt, it was a case of he didnt know what was important and was dissing me.

In the 2nd case it was my honest assessment of the situation.
The Skipper said “you have 2 hours” I never felt so much pressure in mylife.

Was the LT the COMMO? If not, what the hell was he doing in there anyway?

NOBODY came into my shack without clearance.

If he was the COMMO, you didn't throw him out.

I hope all the fags in the military that are so proudly coming out of the closet and causing all this mess understand that what comes around GOES around... and their ass is grass as soon as we have a CiC with some balls again.

I agree. No matter what you think of it the brass would see this as behavior unbecoming a senior officer. Where was his common sense? It’s much more acceptable for a petty officer to have such fun. Hopefully he’ll learn a lesson and get his command back.
