(RTTNews) - A prominent Tea Party group sent a message to members on Monday identifying five current Republican Senators that they intend to target in 2012.
Tea Party Nation named Sens. Dick Lugar, R-Ind., Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, Scott Brown, R-Mass., and Bob Corker, R-Tenn., as Republicans that need to be sent into retirement, accusing them of being Republicans In Name Only, or RINOs.
The message cited Lugar's vote against a ban on earmarks as well as a his votes in favor of the DREAM Act and the START Treaty. Hatch was also criticized for being a "pork king" and a co-sponsor of the DREAM Act, which would have provided a path to citizenship for certain young illegal immigrants.
Tea Party Nation blasted Snowe for her votes in favor of the health care reform bill, the START Treaty, and the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," while the group called Brown " the biggest disappointment of the last year."
Judson Phillips, the founder of Tea Party Nation, said Corker is the group's top target, because he "has done many things to sell out the conservative Tennesseans who put him in office."
"The good news for 2012 is that so many liberals are up for reelection, Republicans are guaranteed control of the Senate and we do not have to pinch our noses this time and support a RINO to prevent liberal control of the Senate," Phillips said.
He added, "2012 will be a very good year for the Tea Party movement and RINO is on the menu!"
Tea Party members had success in a number of Republican Senate primaries in 2010, including in Utah, Florida, Nevada, and Delaware, although their results in the general election were more mixed.
I will sacrafice the MASS senate if it means a purified conservarive majority in the congress.
that state isnt worth much anyways
I agree. He raised a lot of money right here on FR.
Is Brown up in 2012?
Scott Brown is the best you can expect from liberal MA. Don’t waste your time.
Those Maine twins need to be at the top of the list

For sure!

...”Conservatives seem to simply lack the ability to think strategically and practice smart politics”.....
I give some voters the benefit of the doubt for many have come on board via the Tea Party and Beck educating people on what is really going on in our country, who are just learning how politics works. Many here on FR have been informative and especially helpful to those...myself included.
Threads such as this one are a wealth of information and assists all our understanding of where candidate's and politicians are at which may escape us otherwise.
Thanks again...all who post.
You just missed your chance. He was just re-elected.
Too many Freepers are too dense to understand that a RINO is the best we can expect from Massachusetts. They live in some dream world where a conservative can be elected there.
I am like you - I know that Scott Brown is the best conservatives will ever get out of there. Brown is too far right for Massachusetts. He won’t need any tea party help to be defeated and replaced with a left leaning Democrat. But he gives us another R in the meantime, so 2012 is going to be VITAL to take back the Senate and the presidency and repeal Soros’s Obamacare law and anything else crushing this nation.
2012 is pivotal. Scott Brown is not the problem. The others mentioned in this thread an in the original posts are all places where a conservative has some chance of being elected. That is where the focus should be.
I’m thinking with the conservative takeover of State legislatures, this last cycle and hopefully more in ‘12, we will get eligibility requirements, tenth amendment affirmations, maybe closed primaries and sore-loserman laws.
Then boot him. that seat doesnt mean much of anything if other conservatives win in places like Ohio and Missouri.
OK. whatever. I write off MA anyway and don’t worry much about trying to purify anything. There never will be a “purified” anything on this Earth anyway. As long as there are people they will disagree. There will be RINO politicians as long as there are RINO voters. I say get the best politician you can get in each state but really focus on getting strong conservatives in the swing battleground states.
Lugar wouldn’t stand a chance in a write-in campaign...........the blue areas, Gary and Marion county are populated with people who can’t read or write.
Agree 100%.
He could pull an Arlen Specter.
Why has he already been sworn in? I think he’s up in ‘12.
Let the retribution begin! If we don’t take them out, they will just stab us in the back.
My list of Rino’s “To Be Tea Partied”- O. Snowe, S. Collins, S. Brown, M. Kirk, G. Voinovitch, L. Murkowski, L. Graham, J. McCain, R. Luger.
Those seats already belong to the dims....
