The corridor from Salisbury, Md. to Philadelphia to New York City to Boston to Portland will be faced with roughly 18 hours of heavy, wind-whipped snow.
A nightmare is in store for holiday travelers. "People may have problems getting home from holiday ventures,"
Travel will become nearly impossible from Philadelphia northward as the all-out blizzard ensues late Sunday into early Monday morning. Those planning to travel on Interstate 95 during this time run the risk of becoming stranded for a time.

Well, duh. Whenever there is a major snowstorm they close the schools (if they are not already scheduled to be closed).

I blame SUVs, and Bush.
NO snow here in Metrowest yet as of 8:51am.
NYC is actually pretty good about staying open and getting cleared—at least in Manhattan.
Flurries all morning on North Shore MA. O the humanity!
Off to the mall little later. Hopefully this “blizzard” will scare most people from going......
For the most part snow doesn’t get a chance to even stick in Manhattan. There is never a second when there isn’t people walking and vehicles moving.
Yup! Talked to my Aunt in Holmes Beach yesterday. She complained about the cold weather.
NW New Jersey checking in, no snow here. I was expecting a couple of inches when I got up. Just poured my first cup of coffee and not a flake in sight!
My daughter left for her house in Tuckerton last night, thinking we were going to have blizzard conditions today. Bummer, she could have stayed longer....
Well, Va Beach is in the thick of it!
As for snow accumulating in Manhattan, it usually doesn't because of all the heat beneath the streets and sidewalks. But it does accumulate sometimes; and if they are correct about the intensity of this storm, it will accumulate today.

Way ahead of you. Univision weather alerts FTW.
From the weather map I've seen this AM ... real time ... it appears the storm track will only deliver a glancing blow to the north east coast. The areas effected most will be Long Island, Cape Cod and the Islands, portions of NE Maine and Nova Scotia.
That's kind of a personal question, isn't it?
Oh, wait....you mean snow... ;-)
Yeah, all the local news stations have “Weather Storm Teams” now.
The only thing that bothers me is the inevitable power failure...lots of elderly people in New England who will suffer without heat in their homes for some time...makes me want to smack the kids on the forums at AccuWeather who are positively giddy about this storm...probably the same crowd that cheers when a tornado scores a direct hit on someone’s home...
No snow in Baghdad as of 5:19 p.m.
WoW. How could anybody even pay attention to the weather report. I mean, do you see the size of that rock on her finger?
LOL. I know exactly what you’re talking about.
Got to be one of the funniest all time replies I have ever read! Thanks for starting my day off well!!
Wow! That’s a dark and heavy overcast.
