The darnedest thing just happened on TV. Still happening. Obama takes Clinton to the White House press briefing room. Turns the podium over to Clinton, and leaves the room. If you didn't have the sound on your TV, it looked like Obama resigned and handed over to Clinton. Clinton still talking, setting up dueling filibuster with Bernie Sanders. Clinton at that podium is bad deja vu.
But based on the descriptions, I think Ol' Bill just kicked off the Democrats' 2012 primary campaign.
I think Obama just learned the hard way about asking a Clinton for a favor. The likely purpose of Obama's inviting Bill over for a talk, was to get advice on how to survive politically after the November debacle.
And that might have worked for him, had Bill Clinton been sincerely interested in helping him. But Clinton appears to have had other motives ... in this case, showing everybody just how rudderless and ineffective Obama really is, so as to make a primary challenge seem possible and fruitful for others: Hillary in particular.
This press conference is a serious political mistake, and one has to wonder why it was even allowed. I suppose Obama's motives in calling the press conference would have been to convey the impression that "me 'n Bill are working to solve this country's problems." Just to do that seems stupid, as it only highlights how ineffective Obama really is.
Clinton's motives are easier to understand, and are probably twofold: one, it's just selfish indulgence at having an audience again (Clinton lives to have an audience); but also, to insert and twist a dagger in Obama's back. He's showing folks how a real president acts, and how very far Obama is from meeting that standard.
It will not be lost on the media that Clinton speaks fluently, at length, and in complete sentences on a broad range of topics, and does not require a Teleprompter to do it.
I have no doubt that the WH press corps thoroughly enjoyed Clinton's performance, and if they hadn't already figured it out, Obama will seem mighty thin gruel by comparison.
The older, wiser man coming in to clean up the mess that the younger, clueless man has made of things.
In 10 minutes Clinton did what Obama hasn’t been able to do since the first night he came out with his “we have an agreement” impromptu press appearance- explained the benefits- from the point of view of a lib.
If I were a Democrat I’d be really struck by the differences- Clinton can sell ice to eskimos- Obama can’t sell ice to a parched man in the desert.
Of all the LOL’s I have had over bambi’s incompentence and idiocy, this is the LOLiest. He is the LOL in chief, the LOLOTUS.
He stood there taking policy questions and being addressed as “Mr. President” at the Presidential Podium for 30 MINUTES????
I’m starting to seriously wonder if this clown (the half-black one, not the red one) might actually resign. The prospect doesn’t thrill me, with the clown Biden next in line. Clinton, Franken, Biden, Hussein-THIS is the cream of the ‘rat party, unbelievable. A fraternity of clowns.

That’s what struck me, too. That question to Toon was stated by the clueless reporter as if Toon were some kind of expert guru with answer to all the world problems. Unfoggingbelievable.
I am contacting Doctor Who and the Tartis will take us back to the Reagan Era. Our present reality is very frightening. Seriously, what is happening to this great country?

A former President of the UNITED STATES does not go to defend the policies of the sitting president.
What you have are several things going...
1.- The Constitutional Crisis in DC is now rank and open... some of us have spoken of it... here you have it, bleeding, gaping in the open.
2.- A former POTUS doing this... Foreign powers are watching... this is what happens also in Empires in Decline. Folks foreign powers will stand up and pay attention to this. Well beyond just theater.
3.- Bernie Sanders doing what he is doing...
I have spoken of trends in the past... they just accelerated in massive ways, and we have reached a tipping point. We may not feel this, it may not be obvious, but to the power brokers in DC... today is a historic day. Mark your calendars, YOU ARE watching history.”
Obama is way in over his head. American’s that voted for him must have been brain dead. This is truly pathetic, he really doesn’t have a clue. I hope he learns a lesson from all of this for our countries sake as well as his own. And please God let the American people learn a lesson from this as well, no matter what happens no reelection of this man. He can’t handle the job.

You could tell the pressers loved Bill Clinton and Obama basically got offended and left. Had to get in that Michelle was more important than anything the former President had to say.
