The Department of Defense is slamming the door on questions about the mysterious contrail filmed Nov. 8 by a KCBS television crew near Los Angeles after questions were raised about a warning from the National Geo-Spatial Intelligence Agency that there could be missiles fired in that area at that time.

What to believe, what to believe????????Try this. The reason this keeps being brought up by WND is ..... MONEY.
You would think that if the ENTIRE TEN MINUTES OF VIDEO, UNEDITED would prove the case, then CBS would have released it, and would still be printing articles about it.
They do not. Ask yourself why.

Actually, NATCOM had two flights in that exact area, at that exact time, but that would ruin the missile story, and reduce readership of WND, so let's just lie to keep the money coming in. I looked up NATCOM and it appears to be the National Communications Center in Kansas City, Missouri. An idea why they would have two planes in that exact area at the exact same time? Good thing they didn't collide.

If you watched the full video, it was quite clear that it was a missle of some kind, not a contrail from an airplane. That is possible. However, CBS has NEVER released the FULL VIDEO, which makes your point rather moot.
If you have a link to the FULL VIDEO, please post it.

Again, the warning is about small surface missiles used in ship to ship warfare and it also does not appear to be for the date in question.
The report is dated Nov 6, but the warning is for October.
The report is a list of prior warnings.

Well, I watched the full video, and its quite clearly an airliner to me.I'll make the same point to you. You didn't watch the FULL VIDEO because no one but the staff at KCBS has seen it.
The VIDEO shown to the PUBLIC is a very short (around 2 minutes) and highly edited video. During the filming, the helicopter changed it's altitude several times by several thousand feet, to try and deal with the unusual lighting conditions from the setting sun, which illuminated the contrail. In the video, they even loop some of the scenes twice. I noticed this the FIRST time I watched it. I also noticed the lighting changes, which were not consistent with the 'supposed continuity' of filming you are being led to believe.
DUE TO THESE FACTS, it is not possible to tell, from watching the ONLY VIDEO they have released to the public (2 min version), whether it is a missile or aircraft, and the editing and process of filming (a moving viewpoint, not a fixed position) make it appear like a missile.
I don't blame people for believing it's a missile, based on the video KCBS released.
But, the facts have come out, and the 'editing' has been exposed, and the flight that produced the contrail identified, so...

"where did it go???".
I posed the same question the day it happened.
IF it were a foreign missile, it was shot for demonstration purposes and not at a specific land target. Thus, it was intended for show and probably landed in the Pacific, far from any land mass.
IF it were a foreign missile, they were more at sending a warning message "see what we can do."
Rumors have circulated that the oil rig explosion(s) in the Gulf could possible be caused by NK subs.
Recall that recently a Chinese sub, undetected, surfaced in the middle of a US Navy fleet operation.
I have a feeling some foreign powers are hinting that they, too, have some big sticks.

An idea why they would have two planes in that exact area at the exact same time? Bad communication on my part.
They had two planes in the 'same general' area.
Since it would depend on exactly WHERE the helo was, and exactly WHEN, as to which aircraft was picked up on the video, limiting it to those two was as specific as they could get.

I posted this a few weeks ago. A strange contrail appeared over the Cleveland skyline. Something about it tells me it was definitley a missile.

Actually, you can tell it is NOT a missile from the from the very beginning of the CBS video clip. It shows the contrail billowing out without any bright glare of rocket exhaust. If you look at any other footage of a rocket launch, Polaris, Trident, Atlas, etc., there is a bright white flame of rocket exhaust visible at all times. Later the CBS footage shows a red glow at the head of the contrail, which is obviously the reflection of setting sun on the aircraft's wings and body.
You don't need to rely on "expert" opinion. Just go onto youtube and look at rocket launch footage and compare with the CBS footage.

I’ve lost count of the number of times that BOTH Worldnet Daily AND Canada Free Press have posted BREAKING NEWS or ORIGNAL NEWS weeks after others and myself have already posted the source material for explaining or detailing the where’s, how’s, why’s, etc., here at Free Republic.

Dang it! I know I got the HTML correct on that image. Let's try it again.

That is because FR is about 11 minutes ahead of the rest of the world. Just check the time stamp.

If there’s actually ten minutes of video then the Chinese have created the world’s slowest and lowest ICBM.
ICBM boost phases last only about 3-5 minutes, and at the end of that are at an altitude of about 180 miles.

Friend who is former fighter pilot and current commercial pilot said that contrail was definitely not from an airplane.....his opinion is it was a missile.
From a missile that had a longer powered flight phase and, therefore, because of the time it was under direct observation, a slower air speed than any other known missile. But he was a friend so that counteracts all other factors contingent upon reality.
