John Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, announced today he is considering a bid for U.S. president in 2012.
It was his first direct response to months of Internet speculation that he may join the next presidential race.
Bolton was speaking to WND senior reporter Aaron Klein on the latter's investigative radio show on WABC in New York.
"Yes, I am considering it," Bolton said when asked if he is considering a 2012 presidential run. "I am very concerned about the direction of national security policy."
Continued Bolton: "I am concerned that we hardly talk about it at national level debates in the mainstream media. The president, as they say, just seems to view national security issues as an irritation, as a distraction from what his real priorities are."

Glad to hear it.
Too much military adventurism with Bolton, in my opinion.
A big up for Bolton but for Palin, no.
Bolton is a heckuva man IMO, but he would be wasted as a veep. The biggest thing we need is change. We NEED leaders from outside the power structure, renegades and rebels. Both he a Palin seem to represent that. On the other hand, we must watch carefully, those that got us into this mess, both D and R are waiting to preempt any move to rein govt in.
This doesn't seem marketable, not at this point at least.
What is his stand on other things? If he really is a true conservative, Sarah may not run. Her wishes are our wishes - for a true conservative to bring this country back.
Has Bolton spoke out before on anything? The healthcare, Israel, the financial crisis, etc.? Seemed like Sarah was out there solo but I may be wrong.
Great guy, great mind, no shot.
,.......dims heads exploding....and a few Rino’s for luck.
This arrogant, pompous, blow hard would “global” our sovereignty and our money in a Harvard minute. He is OUT. and I don’t want him in our party.
If he’s announced that he wants to run for President why would you think that he would settle for Vice-President?
Neither one is good presidential timber.
However, he would make one hell of a secretary of state and she would be great at dismantling the Blob, the department of education.
The guy who wanted to cut off the top floors of the UN would "global" our sovereignity? Where'd you get that?
NO THANKS.
It happens all the time. Look at Bush when he took on Reagan in 1980. Reagan then chose him after first considering President Ford. Bush gladly accepted after he went after Reagan viciously during the primaries.
I'm surprised some folks don't realize John Bolton is yet another CFR-globalist being touted.
Sounds good to me.
Run John, run!
Shoot. He said that much on Red Eye months ago.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Bolton as Palin’s Secretary of State. We badly, badly need to clean out the State Department. Not even Eisenhower succeeded in doing that. And it’s been getting worse and worse ever since. But it’s got to happen some time.
Hillary is a figurehead with no real foreign policy experience beyond helping Bill take bribes from China and Indonesia. Bolton could really do the job, I believe.
Bolton...We will need a strong Secretary of State which I believe would be up his alley. (Let’s stop with the woman cr** in this position.)
