Very much in command of the facts, quick, firm and clear.
A bit less folksy, yakkity blather and more to the point with a more 'serious' demeanor. Which is good.
If I could give one word of advice to this talented and quick-minded woman, I would tell her to rachet down the bubbly quotient slightly.
She needs to be perceived as serious.... blending with her natural accessibility and warm personality.
She needs to occasionally set her jaw in conviction without breaking into the girly smile and deliver her obviously deeply held positions with authority.
She's got the content down 110%, if she'd just add more seriousness to her delivery...the trick is, such seriousness can't be contrived and should not replace her natural ebullience, wholesale--she needs to retain her authenticity--but a serious tone should be an additive feature, unflappable and strategically deployed.
I completely agree with both of you. I have thought the same thing for a while.
But that does not make her Presidential material.
Most of us didn't support her because the MSM tried to destroy her, it was because we saw a strong candidate who had the ability to lead and was conservative, plus she could relate to the average American.
Your schtick of her not being presidential is not selling here btw.
For instance, if Gov Palin was a pro-choice lib, she's be very "presidential".
Tina Fey should give 20% of all her earnings and ALL her awards to Sarah Palin.
She was a borderline comic, virtually unknown before Sarah. She does have a part in some sit com that I don’t watch, but she owes all her fame to Sarah.
Absolutely, people are entitled to think about other candidates, but every one I think of fades in comparison to Palin.
She has that something special.
I really don’t want all the candidates to sound like tv announcers.
I don’t think that is what people mean- it is more she has to be able to be interviewed by liberal hacks too- if she can handle them... Hannity is not going to go after her aggressively or relentlessly. Part of running for Prez (and being Prez) is dealing with hostile reporters (or people in general).
Okay. Now you’ve done it. If you think Obama is an effective speaker, you’ve lost all credibility.
If I can’t get to the mute button quickly enough when he is on, I just scream and cover my ears.
OK, I truly snickered at that! I do the exact same thing, only I do the very loud “LALALALALALALA” and leave the room, while my hubby turns the volume up louder. He is such a stinker! No, he isn’t a fan; he just likes to get a rise out of me. ;^)
Listening to 0 just makes my skin crawl, and I certainly cannot watch him at all.
I agree. She needs to not be a victim but rather a victor. Talking about her family being attacked too much makes her seem like a victim.
I’ve read most of the posts on this thread. The main criticisms seem to be about style over substance. She should change her voice, her hairstyle, her clothes, her enthusiasm, ...
Sarah has great style AND solid substance.
You may not like her style but she has it.
Not one person here has suggested a better candidate.
There may be some Romney supporters lurking here afraid to post (for good reason - ha) but who else do you Palin critics support?
Yep, clearly they make it up as they go along to suit their own leftist agenda. Too bad many Americans can't see this but think that they are at least fairly impartial and authoritative.
May I suggest that you and your wife chew over the term “act?” Zero has been acting since he announced his run for president, and hasn’t stopped since. Sure, he can read a teleprompter, but he hates this country. How trivial and perfectionists are we as Americans to demand that our leaders act! Leave that to the lib bunch in Hollyweird.
They sure are. They show their ‘concern’ by spending all of their time regurgitating the anti-Palin smears of the far left.
I disagree.
Let Sarah be Sarah.
I don’t want her to be a copy-cut of Merkel or Thatcher.
She’s purely a natural American woman. An American breed.
No pretenses.
Let’s keep her that way.
Great leaders create their own persona. Each of them is distinct and original.
Fake, engineered projections like those by Obama will never make a mark in history.
IOW you want her to be just another phony politician.
exactly, these concerned posteres hatred of Palin is transparent
Amen, and here's my example.
Sarah Palin confronted by teacher
As a Canadian conservative I've followed Sarah Palin mainly by virtue of her official speeches, where she looks and sounds very good. I like her platform and her values. However, the above clip showing her in a non-official capacity was like a bucket of cold water and ended my fascination with her. As a loyal neighbor, I worry about this particular personality-type with control of the military and a finger poised over the nuclear "button".
My two cents: She should make a bid to take over Oprah's chair. I think she'd be good at the bubbly host routine. Besides, it's about time there was a popular conservative in that type of role. Last time I favored Duncan Hunter. Who is the "Duncan Hunter" this time? Rand Paul?
