Thune just lost any support for 2012 from me (VANITY)

Posted on 11/19/2010 2:14:35 PM PST by jakerobins

John Thune voted for S510...the Senate bill enabling the FDA to have wide Regulation Authority over the food supply. Sorry folks but I still say DeMint is the man to watch...and of Course Sarah Palin despite her support for RINO McCain..

I don’t know. Once again, we get totally opposite opinions as to what is in this bill. I would imagine like the Obamacare bill, we will find out what is in it after it has been signed into law. These are the most arrogant, stupid politicians I have seen in my life. They all need to go.

If he played games prior to this vote where he voted no, lets see that too. I like anyone else is sick of these politicians and just wanbt the straight scoop.

That’s what I thought until I saw him on Hannity last night. He has improved his public speaking tremendously, through dealing with the BP oil spill and the Obama administration. He has even written a book about the spill and the deficit of leadership in the Obama administration.

Always said he was just another liberal. He really peed me of when he badmouthed O’donnell on Fox prior to the election. Anybody that trust the republicans to be anything but statist lite are in for real disappointment.

I don’t think this problem can be solved at the ballot box anymore.

In otherwards, there aren’t any heros, just people who want to get elected.

They know if they make it into the ruling class, they will be forever protected and never be subjected to the fate of the everyday guy.

Sad but true.

Problem is that Thune actually voted nay on this one.

So who is lying? Hard to tell anymore.

Thune voted yes to begin debate and then voted no on the up or down.

Doesn’t cloture just mean moving the bill to a final vote?

You forgot Hatch, Brown and Murkowski. Well maybe just Hatch and Brown. Murkowski is a democrat plain and simple.

I sent my better senator, Richard Burr, a letter about that Immigration Reform they tried to shove down our throats back in 2007. He sent out a form letter that said absolutely nothing. He was straddling the fence to see which way he should vote. He lost me right there, even though he eventually voted like a conservative. The fact that he was non-committal right up to the vote really pissed me off.

Basicly...It means the vote to end debate on a bill...A move to prevent a Filibuster

” sent my better senator, Richard Burr, “

I believe that, if you check, you’ll find that Richard Burr might be one of the seven REPUBLICAN co-sponsors of this bill....

Bear with me jake, did Thune vote no on the bill after debate was over? Does this bill go back to the house?

I am no wiz on this!

If you vote yes to begin debate, knowing that it will pass in the end, even if you vote no, then, as far as I’m concerned, you have voted for the bill.

You can’t have it both ways.

If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.

What are Republican thinking? Seven out of twelve co-sponsors are Republicans.

SB 510 - The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010

Sen. Richard Durbin [D-IL]

Cosponsors:

Lamar Alexander [R-TN]

Jeff Bingaman [D-NM]

Richard Burr [R-NC]

Roland Burris [D-IL]

Saxby Chambliss [R-GA]

Christopher Dodd [D-CT]

Michael Enzi [R-WY]

Kirsten Gillibrand [D-NY]

Judd Gregg [R-NH]

Thomas Harkin [D-IA]

Orrin Hatch [R-UT]

John Isakson [R-GA]

Did you know John Bolton backed it [L.O.S.T] for a couple of years as well?

So did the United States Navy. They still do. Their position is that it codifies very favorable "customary practices" as it relates to territorial waters access for purposes of keeping sea lanes open.

Palin took the position as governor that ratifying LOST in the face of continuing Russian encroachment on the largest undeveloped oil & gas reserves on the planet (Chukchi & Beaufort Sea off the Alaskan coast) that would be protected by the treaty for America, as well as diddling by Washington and enviro-wackos on development of these resources, was preferable to frittering away our hope for energy independence (and the end of Alaskan dependence on federal handouts).

She's made no statement om L.O.S.T since she left office. It will be interesting what position she takes if she runs for president. She could station a couple of carrier battle groups in the Aleutians and tell the U.N. to go screw and to lay off American resources-- problem solved. LOL.

Well I am no wiz either..LOL But from what I understand cloture passed so their is no more debate and a fillibuster is out of the question...But the bill must be voted on with ALL Amendments in 60 days in the Senate.....(Had some of these Republicans NOT voted for Cloture it might have died from a long Fillibuster)

DeMint worshipers.

He could stab his hand, swear an oath to God he's not running, and sign a guarantee in his own dripping blood that he's not running in 2012 and they'd still be shouting that we just need to will it to happen even HARDER!

He's not running = he's going to run.

Reminds me of that scene in “The Life of Brian” where Brian gets called the Messiah no matter how many times he denies it. LOL “Only a true 2012 candidate would deny they're running!”
