Altschuler Takes Lead in NY 1 after "recavessing"...

post more on this when I have it, but two sources who are familiar with the recanvassing of the voting machines in NY-1 tell me that GOPer Randy Altschuler, who'd been down several thousand votes to Democratic Rep. Tim Bishop is now up between 300 and 400 with the recanvass completed.

There's over 9,000 absentee ballots to be counted starting next week, but the Republican had been down by 3,400.

“The GOP gain in California will be a big fat ZERO.”

That’s how we roll here in Mexico Norte.

I just did a quick tally of the Blue Dog Coalition. Out of 54 members, only 25 survived Tuesday and there are a couple of members like Costa and Chandler who are still in recounts so there may be even less than 25 once it’s all settled. A couple of those also retired and were replaced with Republicans. That’s incredible.

Can you think of any new Democrats who have been elected that would join the coalition?

Many of those have publicly said they will not support Pelosi. If they don’t, I imagine they will be relegated to the basement offices right next to the boiler room and will not get ANY plum committee assignments.

In that situation, would they be targets for party switching?

Why can’t we come up with strong competitors to Boren or Matheson? Those districts are deep red. Maybe 2012 where the focus will probably be much narrower.

If the Republican is ahead, the counting isn’t over.

Bishops team will find votes. The Gin Lane Democrats will finance this to the hilt.

The explanation for the change was described as a “wild miscount of the ballots.”

Wonder where else there has been a “wild miscount of the ballots” that has not been caught... in Nevada, for starters, perhaps? Colorado, Washington (again), California? Alaska?

True story:
I worked as Grucci’s researcher. I found the rape on the Southampton campus that Bishop covered up. Being the ash holes they are Butchie and his campaign manager used the hit right after Labor Day. Grucci was up about 20 points, but Bishop ran a spot saying his fireworks company was fouling the Brookheavan water. Instead of A) ignoring it, B) running his own spot with his mother and family eating pasta cooked in local water, stupid picked C) immediately release the info that as Provost of Southampton, Bishop covered up the rape then lied to the federal government about it.
The scumbag NEVER denied it, her just ignored it and ran commercials with his wife and kids. He let the scumbags at Newsday successfully press the charge that it was Grucci who was playing dirty by bringing it up.
Oh Grucci sued the skunks at Newsday and won something, but because he and his ash hole consultant used stuff that was definitely election Thursday material so Bishop could not slither away, Grucci lost by a few points and the district got a flaming leftist who voted against them for 8 years.

Interesting.....

combine that with other news in the last 24-hours, and it looks like our total gain is now at 65 seats.

Wow!

Yup...I remember it well....Grucci voters in past elections bought the newsday crap...one guy at work said the Grucci was playing dirty politics...and I could not get through to him that you can not believe newsday....I will not allow that commie rag in my house.

but the electorate is as dumb as Grucci was/is.
and as bad as Grucci was (he caved on important issues), he was head and shoulders over the dirt bag Bishop.

That’s nasty FRiend.

Vidak’s lead shrunk yesterday. We can only cross our fingers that he at least hangs on. Hungry democrat slime named “benawu” at Swing State Project is wetting his pants and predicting a Costa “victory”.

I’m still praying for a Vidak win.

California’s Central Valley needs Vidak. They still have Pelosi and Boxer .... we really need a win by Vidak!!!

I think Utah will gain a seat. So they’d probably stick Matheson in seat with all of SLC that will be safe for him (probably still gop for Pres though). I’d prefer they find a way to get rid of him.

Boren’s last name is still apparently enough for him to win.
