NPR has terminated its contract with Juan Williams, one of its senior news analysts, after he made comments about Muslims on the Fox News Channel. NPR said in a statement that it gave Mr. Williams notice of his termination on Wednesday night. The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the The OReilly Factor on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill OReilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a Muslim dilemma. Mr. OReilly said, The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.
Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. OReilly.
He continued: I mean, look, Bill, Im not a bigot. You know the kind of books Ive written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.
Mr. Williams also made reference to the Pakistani immigrant who pleaded guilty this month to trying to plant a car bomb in Times Square. He said the war with Muslims, Americas war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I dont think theres any way to get away from these facts, Mr. Williams said.
NPR said in its statement that the remarks were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.
The public radio organization said it thanked him for many years of service. Mr. Williams did not immediately respond on Wednesday night to an e-mail seeking comment...

I suspect he has a pretty good lawsuit. They let that old commie Daniel Shore say the most outrageous things, anywhere he wanted, for decades.
YEP...this fits right in with the PLANTATION PARTY, the Democrat party...
He’s a Democrat I can understand and his positions are mostly well reasoned - a rarity these days.
I’d consider being fired from NPR (or my nickname for it, the Red Channel) a badge of honor. Much more cred than National Propaganda Radio’s badge of honor, being mentioned on Nixon’s hate list.
Has the NAACP made a statement about his being fired?
Ha!
National Propaganda Radio.
National Progressive Radio.
National Pinko Radio.
Take your pick.
With Islam truth is now considered hate speech. Geert Wilders is actually on trial for it! I wish our enemy was treated like an enemy.
> No Pravda Radio.
Good pun! I like that.
Pravda means “TRuth”
Russians used to use the names of their two top “news” agencies this way, and I’ll do this phonetically, “S pravda nee isvestia, s isvestia nee pravda,” which means, “In the truth there is no news, and in the news there is no truth.”
Looks like NPR is a good example of exactly that.
“It makes me feel a bit sorry for him.”
Well I do, certainly. I like Juan, although he’s really been a bit of an Obama shill lately.
Still, what he said makes 100% sense.
I suppose it was the Muslims on a Plane part that got him the boot.
‘sok Juan, you just come right on over to Fox. Be part of the “balanced” part of Fair and Balanced.
Minor point, but I didn't think African Americans could be racist...
Sorry for Juan, maybe this will take the scales off his eyes...
Crossfire hasn’t been on CNN in like 5 or 6 years.
Mr. Williams often says things I disagree with but he is a reasonable guy and seems like a very nice person on top of it. Sorry to see our tax dollars misused like this. This is why there should be no NPR.
I have been so disappointed with Juan lately. He has seemed to be completely partisan where he used to be more thoughtful about his positions, parroting the left-wing/Obamunist talking points. How does it feel, Juan, to be fired for telling the truth? Your side is the most disgusting aspect of our political life today. Now you feel how it is to be on the wrong side of the Marxists.
Hey NPR, prove him wrong. You can't. What group or cause has caused the most death and destruction in the World over the last decade? What group or cause is getting worse, not better?
NPR, I would say you owe him an apology and his old job back but you know, he's better off without you. An apology would be meaningless coming from lefty socialists like you - you're all liars.
I think the reason Soros said he wasn’t funding Democrats this year is he has decided he has to destroy Fox News to accomplish his means to an end..... remember Soros is a graduate of the Fabian Society, he is not stupid, he see’s how Beck revealing all these organizations is waking some people up and he has to destroy the messenger to stop the message and any further awakening.
So far, Mara has toed the Marxist Party line perfectly.
Juan just talks about Muslims and their clothes and gets fired....wonder what Whoopee and Joy think about THAT?
Juan tells the truth, and NPR give him the boot.
