"MENTOR, Ohio – Sladjana Vidovic's body lay in an open casket, dressed in the sparkly pink dress she had planned to wear to the prom. Days earlier, she had tied one end of a rope around her neck and the other around a bed post before jumping out her bedroom window.
The 16-year-old's last words, scribbled in English and her native Croatian, told of her daily torment at Mentor High School, where students mocked her accent, taunted her with insults like "Slutty Jana" and threw food at her.".....

Children have always been brutal savage amoral animals. I was one of them not all that long ago. It used to be adults controlled them and helped channel that energy. Not the case now a parent can’t spank a child without cps knocking on his door and the schools just throw them out or ignore the problem.
Not to say that the kids who did this are blameless. They should be horse whipped.
Perhaps the school could put them through a little nondirective values clarification. Oh, they already took that and passed?

I've heard that excuse before (Costco, Hawaii COLB).
We are raising critical masses of feral youth today. Sad to say, so much of this cruelty starts with the upbringing of the children. And in too many cases, they are brought up in broken homes, ad hoc families, with no values.
I know we’re not supposed to talk about values as that is anathema to the left, but, that’s a major part of the problem right there. Kids brought up without civilizing influences and values become feral. This is a major part of the ghetto culture, which for some reason, we celebrate nowadays through rap and hip hop.

This is so outrageous, words fail me. Pardon the pet topic, but: our public schools are doing an ever-better job cranking out sociopathic packs of wolves.
If they’d come to my girl’s wake and laughed at her, they’d be having their own wake a few days later.
Is it truly philosophy, or is it attitude? Philosophy would mean to me that it’s by design, and I don’t give the Left whom run our public schools much credit for such design, so I believe their natural arrogance as attitude supersedes philosophy in this case.

Ok, so this kid killed himself because he was subsequently bullied? ‘Scuse me here, but wouldn’t the average kid try to supress this behavior in the face of bullying?

At school, life was very different. She was ridiculed for her thick accent. Classmates tossed insults like “Slutty Jana” or “Slut-Jana-Vagina.” A boy pushed her down the stairs. A girl smacked her in the face with a water bottle.
Phone callers in the dead of night would tell her to go back to Croatia, that she’d be dead in the morning, that they’d find her after school, says Suzana Vidovic.
“Sladjana did stand up for herself, but toward the end she just kind of stopped,” says her best friend, Jelena Jandric. “Because she couldn’t handle it. She didn’t have enough strength.”
Vidovic’s parents say they begged the school to intervene many times. They say the school promised to take care of her.
She had already withdrawn from Mentor and enrolled in an online school about a week before she killed herself.
