My friends and I got tired of seeing kids get bullied and decided to become the people that “bullied the bullies”. If the parents and teachers weren’t going to do anything, we felt someone needed to.

Good for you! I went through hell growing up and wished there were kids around like you who would have stood up for me (of course most of the teachers wouldn't, and my parents were too perfect to believe that these awful things could happen to their child). Luckily I turned out ok (took a while, ha ha) and married a man who is 6'4" tall...My daughter's in the 97th percentile for height and my son feels like he's made out of solid lead when you lift him up, and they're both as good as gold. I plan on raising them to be like you, defenders of the bullied. :)

It was the fourth time in little more than two years that a bullied high school student in this small Cleveland suburb on Lake Erie died by his or her own hand — three suicides, one overdose of antidepressants. One was bullied for being gay, another for having a learning disability, another for being a boy who happened to like wearing pink.

Something else is going on here. The school is out of control and my money bets that a TEACHER is the ring leader. Every parent that cares about their kids should be banging down the door to the school district's office.

One is unfortunate...but 4 in two years. Hey WAKE-UP Mentor superintendent...something insidious is happening right in your pretty little suburban school!

We were lucky enough to have a job related move to a great school district with much nicer students.

Sad story which extends to the fact that these kids didn’t have the strength to stand up for themselves. Seriously, what’s worse—getting expelled for beating someone to a pulp or killing yourself? These kids need to get a grip.

Looks like maybe her sister has been ‘updating’ her page for her, give the recent date. My son’s best friend died of cancer 6 months after returning from Iraq. His brother kept his myspace page open and condolences were posted there, as well as a way for his friends to keep in touch. Maybe that’s what they’re doing to?

Public schools are beyond hope and the cirriculum has always been a waste of time.

I did! See post 61...my friends and I bullied the bullies! I actually received a very nice hand written letter from a girl that I defended against 2 raging b*tches during my freshman year of high school.

I am a girl who grew up with 4 brothers, so I could take the heat and defend myself verbally and physically if need be. Therefore, since I had the guts to do something about it, I felt it my duty to defend the people who felt defenseless.

I guess I never felt like a hero, but I like that you said that! :)

Who was that masked, hot stranger?!

I agree. This has gotten a lot of play here. I’m in Northeast Ohio as well. The administrators and teachers were aware and had witnessed the bullying of that boy.

I have said this before to others. Kids are going to do dumb things. That is why we have adults in control. When the adults fail, then the whole system fails. Schools must be safe places for all students.

Diversity is exactly that - a buzz word. It is similar to “social justice,” which offers nothing social nor justice. It’s all about leveling. Diversity and multiculturalism are not about respecting others or valuing differences but rather to hammer in the evils of such ideas as ethnocentrism and white privilege. In the Left’s world, these are probably two of the most evil things in existence.

I know what they are force-feeding us in college since I’m on the receiving end. The good news is I am a mature adult and I recognize the propaganda. Lots of really nasty stuff. When I watch the videos and see who they are quoting and citing, I get chills. It’s a bunch of socialists in the academic world.

I think someone else said it on here. No hope.

Look, you have to consider this. That kid felt that dressing that way was WHO he was; it reflected his personality and his identity. People mocking him for that were essentially chipping away at his self - at least his own image of self.

The kids today often have patchwork identities and they are very vulnerable.

Bottom line is the bullying should have been stopped by the adults in that school. No excuses. None.
