Saint Sarah teaming with "RINO" Steele? How can this be?

BTW, it's interesting to see how the Palin Rabid Response Team came to the rescue with an assortment of rationalizations.

What bothers me is that we have been trying to starve the RNC for years. Why? Because as often as not it uses our funds to defeat Conservatives. You need look no farther than Arizona and Delaware to see evidence of it. Look, when I say this I’m actually referencing the RINOs in the party that come out and support other RINOs. I’m also referencing what happens when a person who voices support for Conservative principles does happen to win a nomination. The RNC that is supposed to push through our nominees, will eviscerate the Conservatives and throw their full support behind RINOs.

So we try to starve the RNC, and a person who claims to be one with us makes a big push to raise funds for it.

We withdraw support from an agency that will not push our agenda, and are defeated by someone who claims to support our agenda.

This isn’t how you change the party leadership. You go on the record of disagreeing with the party leadership. You don’t slap them on the back and help fund them.

Have you folks seen evidence that Palin disagrees with the RNC? Have you seen her saying it needs to change? Have you seen her asking the leadership to stand down in favor of Republicans who support our policies and could do a better job? I haven’t.

This seems like one more instance where Palin is gifted with the blessings of “good intentions” when there is zero evidence to back that up. It’s the granting to someone you like, of always accepting that they are doing the right thing. These days I don’t grant that blanket amnesty to anyone, not Sarah Palin or anyone else.

Probably not worded as well as I would like, but I think you’ll catch my drift.

Excellent points.
I would point to Palin’s endorsements this season though as some evidence of her intentions, at least.

I wouldn’t go so far as some would, being that I recognize that she took few bold stands for outsider candidates until they already had momentum, and she did back several RNC candidates over Tea Party/DeMint candidates. She is certainly no Jim DeMint, who backed all the Tea Party candidates, even when the odds were long.

But, as I’ve said, I think she can raise money and rally the true believers like no other Republican, even if she can’t win a national race.
That’s why she is a perfect fit for RNC chairman.
She would certainly be better than Michael Steal has been.

Good post, D1. Thanks for the ping.

I’m seeing some mixed messages so I am a skeptic at this point.

Time will tell.

You nailed in, Jim. Palin wants Steele’s job...and a vast majority of us would LOVE for her to get it! She’ll earn it, and she will ROCK our little world! :)

Yep, Palin has finally shown that she is really a RINO, just like Reagan, Lincoln, and everyother person who claims to be a “republican”

At times, Steele has been off-message, but most importantly he has reunited the old 3-legged stool coalition for the Republican Party and has devastatingly picked apart Obama's agenda.

First I fully support Palin working with the RNC and trying to get as many GOPers elected now in Nov, as possible. That is exactly what she should be doing, and is doing. More power to her.

But with your comments above, please explain? The way it reads to me is, POTUS Obama has won virtually every battle to in act his agenda since taking office. Now, the public may not like it (we don't), but the notion that the RNC has picked it apart I just don't see. Neither domestically or with NS policy overseas.

The only area where Obama has been defeated or forced into a position he did not want was via Gen. McCrystal. Though, that was only after the fact of Obama putting forth a plan in Stan that was less than what the General wanted. Gen. McCrystal then forced the issue via a third party (fell on the sword) but in that process has for a period of time now isolated the WH out of the war in Stan. Gen. Petraeus is now in a very powerful position with how Stan will move forward over the next 12 to 18 months. The WH can do very little to oppose him now.

Despite her evident populist willingness to take on corruption and cut bells and whistles for politicians (which isn't where the big and wasteful spending really is), for those who think Palin is a conservative when push comes to shove aren't aware that she put Wasilla deep in debt to build a socialized health club and taxed oil companies with a Byzantine accounting system to the point that they canceled drilling plans. It's a heck of a lot easier to look good with a petrodollar-cash-flow/population ratio like Alaska's.

There's a reason McCain picked her as a running mate.

Just keep up with the leg shots, smiley waves, empty platitudes, and cutie tag lines Sarah. I'm sure you'll impress the likes of Vladimir Putin or Hu Jintao with all that geopolitical gravitas, but you blew it with me when you bypassed a conservative and endorsed Fiorina.

Two peas in a pod.

That's ridiculous. Steele is RNC chairman. Sarah is a Republican. As a Republican, Republicans would expect her to support the party. Would you prefer her to stand with Kaine?

To compare Sarah with Steele is the equivalent of comparing a wild Alaskan king salmon to a farm raised rainbow trout.
