GOM platform in the last 4 years

We have oil rigs/platforms all over the world for several decades. Why cherry-pick such a small set of data?

“I agree. When the first 9/11 plane hit the tower, I thought it was a terrible accident. When it happened again to the second tower, I knew different.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I knew when the first one hit because I had read detailed warnings posted on the web saying what was planned, that Bin Laden was behind it and that their engineers had calculated that a jumbo jet with full fuel tanks would create enough heat to make the frame fail and let the towers pancake down exactly as they did. What I don’t understand is that no one else seems to be aware that those warnings were posted and I cannot find any record in the archives. I was seated at a desk working at a temporary job when the business owner came and told me about the first plane striking a tower, ironically he is an engineer who had been involved in the construction of the towers. I told him that it was Arab suicide pilots and to be ready for others to strike. He looked at me as if he thought I was nuts but when the other strikes happened he never commented one way or the other about what I had told him.

“Then the worst oil spill on record takes place,”

When you made the above statement , You sounded like an environmentalist. If if sounds like one then it is one

Why was this BP oil spill so bad? there is no oil on the Gulf coast beaches.beaches , the Ocean , the Gulf , everything is as it was before this BP “oil spill”. The liberals say that it takes 50 years to clean up an oil spill and I know they haven't cleaned up anything as there was nothing to clean up.

The liberal mainstream media has all of you replying to this like it was something.

It is Nothing as was the BP “oil spill”. Where is the BP oil spill now? Where are the oil covered gulf coast beaches? Nowhere because the beaches , the Ocean , the Gulf , everything is as it was before this BP “oil spill”.

The liberal media lies. they are the enemy. When will you “conservatives” get it?

One of the links you posted was the same as mine. It sifts through all the BS incidents and gives great information on just how INFREQUENT major explosions and fires really are.

I give up. You obviously know more than my couple of decades in oil/gas industry has taught me about industry fires. I gained little understanding while working on offshore platforms and designing facilities to be installed on them.

Enjoy your tinfoil, happy conspiracy hunting.

Cheers!

post 268 for example.

Oh I see. Sorry that I didn't anticipate what was posted in post 268 when I responded to the snarky post 133 that started this whole brouhahha. Nice try sparky.

Depends on a) what you consider “major”, and b) whether you consider today’s incident “major.”

Here is a list of only major damage. Some caused by other events like hurricanes.

LOL! Well, you got me there. It seems it could be "major" or "minor" depending upon who is twisting the stats :-)

I consider today a "major" because of the oil slick and the evacuation. I'm willing to bet they don't do all of this over a grease fire.

Again, that depends. I haven’t actually worked on a rig, so I’m not sure of their safety procedures. We do have several guys here who do have that experience, though.

You should realize that graphic was created back in May when the BP oil spill was relatively new and had not reached it’s full size.

Thank you. I’ll try to look at that later today.

I’ve got some things I need to do this afternoon.

Any time! There’s scads of info on that site, but as per bureaucracy rules, it’s not at all logically arranged.

You were then provided with specific, factual, information to the contrary

I asked when I was provided with this specific information and you replied.

post 268 for example.

You make this very easy.

any more questions?

Now...just for the record. Post 268 was NOT directed to me nor was I ever pinged to that post. You're making this very easy. And to reitierate, post 268 came 135 posts after the snarky and unsolicited relpy to me that seems to have gotten your panties in a twist.

Happens all the time, didn’t you know that? Just ask the ‘industry experts’ all over this thread. /sarc

Yeah, those of us who do this all day every day are far less informed than those of you who don’t.
