Poll: Women Treated with Less Chivalry
The Washington TImes ^ | 8/17/10 | Jennifer Harper

Feminists may insist that life for women has gotten better since the days when raucous female activists marched in the streets for equality and questioned traditional social mores...

Pollsters say otherwise. Things are out of kilter. And pretty dismal, according to a Harris Poll released Monday.

Eight out of 10 Americans, in fact, say, "Women today are treated with less chivalry than in the past."

The ‘less chivalry’ nonsense means fewer men with money for the golddigger crowd.

It’s not that men have become less polite but that the women seeking the men with Brad Pitt looks, Bill Gates money and the fashion sense of a gay man have grown out of proportion to the available men in the world.

Your brush is overly broad. I don’t know what other reasons there may be that you can’t find an American woman to suit you, but blaming an entire gender in one country sounds more like you don’t want to look very hard at yourself.

Good for you.

I’m guessing you know how to conduct yourself. Like a lady.

Most women today have no clue about the power and influence they could hold over men - if they only acted decently and with respect.

They got equal treatment, now they complain about it. The grass was greener, but now not so much.

I take the bus to work and if it’s standing room only, I’ll give up my seat for a lady that’s standing. I’m the only guy that does so though.

“Just 35 percent said women got equal pay for equal work.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
They don’t bet equal pay, they get HIGHER pay for equal work, they get equal pay for less work.

Does a Kagen merit a door opening for “it”?

Does a gentlman debase himself to offer manners to an uncouth female dog?

Does a gentlman open a door in order to offer the opportunity for a slap in the face?

What normal people call chivalry they call sexual harassment.

You may thank men-hating leftist-liberals for this. You can also thank them for purposefully blurring the lines of roles in the family and in society.

In the early 70's I was out shopping with my Grandmother and I held a door open for a woman then stepped aside to let her pass first.

A woman, called me a "Pig" for my actions.

I do not recall if it was the woman that I held the door for but I do recall my Grandmother sending that woman into a rack a clothing.

What did I learn from this? Don't mess with my bimasaní

Maybe because of my age, (old) I never forget to say *Thank you* when some gentleman opens a door for me...I love men, they can do all the stuff I cannot do....

I think every one of us guys has at least one story, of when we were treated rudely when we opened a door for a woman, bent down to pick something up for them, or something. But a few rude people are not going to stop me from doing what I know is right.

What we need is a sly comment to use when it does happen. Like excuse me, I mistook you for a Lady.

When my feminist sister got a flat tire and asked me to change it out it I told her that I would not, but I would supervise her doing it. It was fun ordering her feminist arse around but she did it, and learned an important new skill.

“They must have been raised by wolves”.

I have also seen women flabbergasted if a man holds the door open or offers a seat. That being said, I have taught my daughters to expect to be treated like a lady. If not, then they are not worthy of their attention (I am hoping this message stays with them during their teens/early adulthood).

Maybe it's just who you know. The men in my life are very chivalrous. Most strangers on the street are polite as well.

Yep, to a degree, it is their own damn fault, HOWEVER: no way in Hell I don’t open the door for a lady.
No way in Hell I don’t offer to help a lady lift something heavy. No way in Hell...etc....
My kin didn’t teach me to say “thank you” in expectation of a return, they taught me to say “thank you” because it’s the right thing to do.

"Chivalry" is nothing more than respect for women, and respect has to be earned.

Those who long for the age of chivalry to return sat silent as their gender counterparts, i.e. the Feminazis huffed and puffed and tried to turn feminism into "civil rights II" demanding Special Rights...not just equal rights.

My philosophy is, you act civil, I treat you civil, you act otherwise, I treat you otherwise".

Women are treated with less chivalry in east and west coast cities. Out in fly over country, it’s called manners and common decency.
