POLK COUNTY, Fla. -- Fifteen men were arrested in an undercover sex sting in Polk County that spanned four days and ended Sunday. Sheriffs deputies said the men wanted to have sex with children.
Deputies said the 15 men they arrested included an airline employee and a man who a sergeant recognized as his son's little league coach. "They're nasty individuals and they need to be exactly where we're putting them, in prison," Sheriff Grady Judd said.
The arrests made by the Polk County Sheriff's Office were men who answered ads on Craigslist. During the investigation, from Thursday, August 12, through Sunday, August 15, 2010, a total of 15 adult males were arrested and charged with traveling to meet a minor for sex (or related crimes).
The sheriff says the arrests prevented at least 15 children from being sexually abused.
"If we haven't arrested you this time, we'll get you the next time, because we're coming after you," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.
It took four days for the sheriff's office, along with other local and state agencies, to round up 15 men who detectives said intended to have sex with children between the ages of 8 and 14 years old. The arrests included men like Robert Chan, from Pinellas County, who allegedly brought Skittles for a 13-year-old girl he was after.
"He made statements like, What I want this little 13-year-old to do is do gymnastics while she's nude. That's sick," Sheriff Judd said.
Most of the men, between the ages of 18 and 67, were lured from Craigslist by detectives to an undercover home with cameras and computers.

They could be trampling on some groups freedom of religion here... thankfully!
All they have to do is convert to Islam and they’re safe.................
I’m amazed that this kind of sting still works, who hasn’t heard about cops pretending to be underage boys/girls on these sites? Oh well, I guess if you’re consumed with lust your mind isn’t thinking too clearly.
There is nothong wrong with whatthese men did! Mohammed the Prophets last wife was only 9 years old when he initiated sexual relations with her.So why not these guys too?( sarc.)
As a father of four (all under 13) and of one who lives in the Tampa Bay Area.....you do not want to be reading this in your local news.
I am happy that the Polk Co Sheriff’s office is on the ball.

Huh? The Mann act on steroids?
No requirement to cross those pesky state lines, no requirement that you transport the minors or pay for their transport, all you need to do is drive your own car or ride a bus suspiciously?
Apparently arranging a meeting for sex with a minor is A-OK, but driving to it isn't?
Sooooo, if one of these miscreants arranged to have the tyke come to them, it would be legal?
*cue twilight zone theme*
Uh oh!
My dad told me that it is no wonder you find these sorts of people in positions where they have access to kids, because normal people cannot STAND kids!
If they wanted sex with children, they should consider democratic legislators. Most of them are basically children.
I wonder how many of these perpetators have been protected by Planned Parenthood in the past? Planned Parenthood certainly wouldn’t alert the police if any of these sickos brought a girl in for a forced abortion.
Geez - what a bunch of dangerous morons. Hunting Craigslist for underage sex partners? SKITTLES? The behavior is too creepy and disgusting to be funny; it sure makes you shake your head at the pure idiocy.
Welcome to the internet: Where the men are men, the women are men too, and the children are FBI agents.
What do you suppose was in the original ad?
Beat me to it......
“Huh? The Mann act on steroids?”
The Mann Act requires an actual female vicitm, I believe. So these newer laws designed catch internet predators certainly seem broader.
“No requirement to cross those pesky state lines...”
The Mann Act is federal law, these newer laws are state laws.
“Apparently arranging a meeting for sex with a minor is A-OK, but driving to it isn’t?”
Actually showing up demonstrates intent more than internet chat does.
“Sooooo, if one of these miscreants arranged to have the tyke come to them, it would be legal?”
That does not follow at all. The existence of a law criminalizing one specific behavior does not impute, logically, either criminality or legality to other specific behaviors.
