WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House says the government is now borrowing 41 cents of every dollar it spends.

New estimates predict the unemployment rate will average 9 percent next year and the budget deficit will be $1.42 trillion - even bigger than previously expected.

Who wants to take a guess as to what the real figure ends up being? Anyone?

I say at least a few hundred billion higher than this latest estimate. Something like 1.7 trillion, because the new tax hikes will probably reduce government income by increasing unemployment further.

Yeah, I know, we have a long time to wait to get the actual figure.

How about a second prediction that won’t take as long to find out? Everyone predict when the next upward revision in the deficit will take place. I say right after the elections, let’s call it November 15, and I’ll guess it goes up another hundred billion from this one.

“If I did the math right that’s almost $5,000 for every single person in the United States.”

Yes, you are correct, and the total debt rings up at $70,000 for every American.

The fiscal year ends prior to the elections so Nov. 15th won’t matter. But watch all the contractors owed money start complaining they are not getting paid as our gov’t is on a cash bais and spending does not count until the check is cut! This happened last year big time just prior to the fiscal year end.

Wait a minute! This can’t be right! Biden and Obama have both said that they saved the nation. This just can’t be.

Er, how can they know what the budget deficit is going to be when there is no budget?

I swear the rat voters have to be the dumbest voters this country has ever had along with this rat party

that would be $1,400 billion in interest.

Oh common now. You’re using scare tactics. Keep in mind the savings we’re going to be experiencing with all the new programs, the new rules and regulations and the massive money we’ll get back from medicare fraud. /s

We haven’t bailed out the states yet so it’ll certainly be higher. If they admit to 1.4T you know it’ll be higher.

I get $4580.00 per person. I had to use a spreadsheet. My calculator doesn’t have enough digits.

And, I pay more than that in income taxes.

So, the revenue plus deficit must be a huge number.

I would sure like to see the names and amounts on Gov checks.

You’re not even counting the TENS OF TRILLIONS in obligations we’ve racked up...promises that aren’t counted in the debt.

Of course, this number will be higher than $1.42 trillion. White House projections hardly ever come in as expected. God, what a sorry bunch of dummies our nation has become!!
