The Serious Tracking of Americans Begins
Economic Policy Journal ^ | 07/16/2010 | Economic Policy Journal

They have passed the health bill, they have passed the financial regulations bill and they have snuck stuff into the stimulus package bills. They are going to track your money and your body. Here's the first few things they are doing. This is step one. It will only get worse from here.

According numismaster.com:

...the Health Care Bill mandates, according to Numismaster.com, Starting on January 1st in 2012, S federal law will require coin and bullion dealers to report to the Internal Revenue Service all gold and silver coin purchases and sales greater than $600. No that is not an error, they tacked the gold coin tracking regulations into the health bill. They are just tacking stuff on wherever they can.

As for your body, you will be required to have an "electronic health record", by 2014. They snuck this into one of the "stimulus" bills. The electronic record will include an obesity rating. The information will be required to be on a "national exchange" with only secure access (Hah!). Why the F does your obesity rating have to be on a national exchange? This is a tip off to how micro-managed they are going to attempt to run your life.

Keep in mind that the health bill and financial "reform" bill are thousands of pages, with much of the details left up to the new agencies to fill in. Obama is appointing major league interventionists to head these agencies. They are completely clueless as to how an economy works. Their regs will be over the top. It will stifle America in so many ways, it is difficult to imagine. I was in East Berlin the year before the Wall came down. I saw what constant monitoring and micro-management did to people. It is not pretty. The gray, the drab, the despair was everywhere. When you can only take orders and wait for approvals and are constantly watched, it saps the life out of you. America is going to be changing and the government is going to try and watch you and monitor your vitals, as if you were a lab rat, as it does the changing.

It is not going to be pretty.

“bring back most of that US$14 TRILLION back to the US financial system—our economy would immediately take off like a missile.”

Who would Trust the Bastards?

If it can happen once it can happen again.

I suppose there may be some who would let the Greed get the better of themselves.

The founders gave us just two ways to resist tyranny from within, an educated and informed public by a free press, which has mostly thrown in with the tyrants these days, and the last resort the Second Amendment.

It’s interesting that just recently the Supreme Court has seen fit to remind everyone what the later means.

It’s all wrapped up in the Declaration of Independence and the consent of the governed.

I foresee private companies that will take 1oz coins
and re melt and strike them into 1/10 oz bullion coins :-)

Then you can buy/sell beneath the 600.00 point easily.

If this turns out to be true then the premium for 1oz
gold eagles will probably drop?? Who wants a denomination
that large if it brings the feds into your business!

Oh just DUCKY!!! Well, in that case, I want my gov’t issued chef to prepare all my meals, and my gov’t issued personal trainer to work me out. I need my free masseuse because stress is bad for the body and can cause me to gain weight. I simply cannot be expected to do this on my own.

Oh, you will, you will get all of those things!

First, your govt.-prepared meals:

Winston and Syme pushed their trays beneath the grille. Onto each was dumped swiftly the regulation lunch - metal pannikin of pinkish-gray stew, a hunk of bread, a cube of cheese, a mug of milkless Victory Coffee, and one saccharine tablet."

And then your personal trainer:

"Thirty to forty group!" yapped a piercing female voice. "Thirty to forty group! Take you places, please. Thirties to forties!" Winston sprang to attention in front of the telescreen, upon which the image of a youngish woman, scrawny but muscular, dressed in tunic and gym-shoes, had already appeared.

And, finally, your masseuse:

The door clanged open. As the young officer entered and stepped aside, there emerged from behind him a short stumpy guard with enormous arms and shoulders. He took his stand opposite the chinless man, and then, at a signal from the officer, let free a frightful blow, with all the weight of his body behind it, full in the chinless man's mouth. The force of it seemed almost to knock him clear of the floor. His body was flung across the cell and fetched up against the base of the lavatory seat. For a moment he lay as though stunned, with dark blood oozing from his mouth and nose. A very faint whimpering or squeaking, which seemed unconscious, came out of him. Then he rolled over and raised himself unsteadily on hands and knees. Amid a stream of blood and saliva, the two halves of a dental plate fell out of his mouth.

Regards,

(The article has typos all over the place. I found numismaster.com but didn't spend a lot of time looking for the article. But I have seen this discussed in other goldbug threads.

I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see where this applies just to coins.

I can see why everyone is upset over what is forced participation in a health exchange. Nobody should be forced in by the government. There’s simply no excuse for such a power grab.
However there are some positives that we cannot ignore. If you’re going to argue the point with a lib you best be ready to understand this is about intrusion,as one of many steps to completely regulate our lives,a scenario that would actually scare plenty of libs as well.
First off having everything(or as many as wish to opt in as a preferable choice) would save money. Of course if not enough opted in those savings would dissipate and create yet another useless govt program.
Second it would save lives. If a person lived in state A and was traveling to state B and became gravely ill, records could be accessed quickly to help determine treatment. Try and get your medical records from your doctor on a weekend.
These are not invalid points.Whether they offset the intrusion, the further erosion of personal liberty is the question that only we can answer, not the government.

The solution is pretty simple..... slaughter the swine and make sausage. The ham from a more equal pig is tasty

And that’s today’s prices. Lower and you can buy more unseen, higher less.
From what i know of gold coins, the smaller the size(weight),the greater the premium over the price of the commodity. By doing this they will make it more expensive to accumulate if one wished to do so in anonymity.

The first question is:

Is this correct or an urban legend?

On what page and in what pp of the bill?

Link?

You’re assuming a doctor will actually have time to LOOK at the records.

Zbigniew Brzezinski an advisor to Obama from one of his books

--put forward the concept of a future ‘technotronic era’ whereby a more controlled society would gradually emerge, dominated by an elite unrestrained by traditional values.

-- Brzezinski wrote that ‘Power will gravitate into the hands of those who control information’ , adding that surveillance and data mining will encourage ‘tendencies through the next several decades toward a technocratic era, a dictatorship leaving even less room for political procedures as we know them’

-- By gaining control over informational technological communications Brzezinski outlined how this could help achieve control and order over the public:

"Unhindered by the restraints of traditional liberal values, this elite would not hesitate to achieve its political ends by the latest modern techniques for influencing public behavior and keeping society under close surveillance and control." (Brzezinski, 1970)

“I just wonder how all that will mix with an incorporated 2nd amendment and the shear number of weapons in private hands in this country?”

Guns are nothing if the holders lack the balls to use them. What we do when the moment measured in ‘pucker factor’ comes will decide all. Even in the best scenario that line of gun men will be thin.

"But like they say: guns don't kill, people kill. Well, guns don't resist oppression either; people resist -- or they don't."

Excellent post. One can only hope that folks consider the thought behind it.

History is an unforgiving teacher.

They were also collecting GPS data in the census. The bills use large amounts of our tax dollars to monitor us.

Yanno,if you want a link perhaps ask the person that posted the story. I am operating under the assumption that the story is factual.
The first question i always have is does this seem plausible. If i went under your more stringent level of scrutiny i would never have time to read more than 3 posts a day.
