Boy all of these reporters that are reporting this are looking very stupid right now. He typed up a resignation letter, didn’t he? Didn’t he?? What kind of journalism is this??
On a side note, would love to be a fly on the wall in that meeting with the President. It’s going to be a good one. Wonder if Joe “Stand Up for Chuck” Biden will be there...

So, McChrystal is not giving Obama the easy out. Should be an interesting day indeed.

Now this is an interesting turn of events.
Why lay those particular cards on the table to the press?

FRiends, watch out. That MSNBC (what do you expect from them) link may slow your puter down to a snail’s pace.
This is just more proof showing what a little, little man the usurper is. He can dish is out, but he can’t take it. Whaaaa!

This will be interesting. I actually give Obama some latitude either way on this. There is so much truth in the article, but if I was CIC I would not allow this to pass, as it opens up the potential for a deluge of criticism within the ranks, and this is open criticism is out of bounds. I don’t fault the General for doing it even if it is wrong. Also, regardless of Obama’s decision-making here, he is still a dreadful CIC and President on all accounts. That doesn’t mean he can’t occasionally do something correctly.

He is forcing Obama to fire him or demand a resignation. This is what he intended when he gave the RS interview. He is a courageous guy.

The general’s response could be interpreted not as a denial of the resignation being submitted, but as “I can’t answer that question; you know better than to try to discuss it with me, and, no, I’m not going to discuss it”

From a military retirement standpoint, is it better to resign than to be fired? Do they still have the temporary ranks/permanent ranks in the officer corp?
