And, so it begins. You voted and so did we, and at the end of a month-long process, were ready to start revealing Gibson.coms Top 50 Guitarists of All Time.

Sure it wasn't Carlos Santana? Or maybe Charo? ;-)
“You know, Jose Feliciano, ya got no complaints... Waiter!”
I didn’t see his name. Here’s the list (links) —

Cha-cha-cha!
Indeed! Paco de Lucia is up there to...in case you've never experienced this:
How about Stanley Jordan? Walter Becker from Steely Dan? I know you’re always going to get arguments with these lists, but this is quite possibly the worst list I’ve ever seen.
In other news, what’s the best kind of beer?
“Oh yeah, forgot one - wheres Dick Dale? “
The King of the Surf Guitar. Still playing his FENDER guitar — now in his rockin 70s !!
Al Dimeola seems to be forgotten....
So much for flash over substance.
2 Eric Clapton
3 Jimi Hendrix
4 Duane Allman
5 Frank Zappa
6 Jeff Beck
7, 8, 9.... who cares?
Glen Campbell played on God knows how many sessions for so many different artists...very underrated. I think they wanted to make him a Beach Boy at one time.
Did you mean ..coochie coochie coochie? ;)
No Larry Carlton...and yet Kurt Cobain?????
Didn’t see James Burton and Eric Johnson. Probably because they play Fenders.
I'll go with Stevie on top, since he always acknowleged a special connection with Henrix, so he's a twofer : )
I've listened to SRV a thousand times, and he still makes my jaw drop.
Any top 50 guitarist list that doesn’t have John Petrucci and Steve Howe is worthless.
I've said it a zillion times and I'll say it again: I don't really get the Delta blues/rock connection. The English "blues" rockers--and even American electric blues--simply does not have the rural Southern roots sound of acoustic country blues. The chords may be theoretically the same, but the sound is totally different.
BB King, feh! Charlie Patton is The Man!
I saw Fleetwood Mac on their Say You Will tour and was blown away. Lindsey was the best guitarist I’ve ever seen. He went to the front row, let a fan strum his guitar while he changes chords. Didn’t miss a beat of the song. He also did ‘Big Love’ a capella, with just his guitar. Everyone exploded in applause when he was done. Its a rare talent to sing lead and play the pickin’ style he does.
