The Jewish people, according to archaeologists, originated in Babylon and Persia between the 4th and 6th centuries BC. The modern-day Jews most closely related to that original population are those in Iran, Iraq and Syria, whose closest non-Jewish relatives are the Druze, Bedouins and Palestinians, the study found.

Sometime in that period, the Middle Eastern and European Jews diverged and the European branch began actively proselytizing for converts.

At the height of the Roman Empire, about 10% of the empire's population was Jewish, although the bulk of them were converts. Some Khazars were also incorporated during this period.

"That explains why so many European and Syrian Jews have blue eyes and blond hair," Ostrer says. It also explains another of the team's findings — that the population most closely related genetically to European Jews are Italians.

But the whole study is nonsense.

There are ample studies that show the Cohen line (Levitical priests) where ever they are -— Ashkenazi, Persian/Mizrahi, Sephardic, share the same paternal Y chromosome.

Similarly, plenty of studies that show close genetic relations with -— ick -— our arab neighbors.

More likely than not, Einstein is a German place name, like London or Kent in England. Many German Jews had assumed ordinary Germans names the same way other Germans did, by profession or place of birth. Names like Rosenthal and Rosenberg are “Jewish” because it was unusual for German gentiles to have them.

In the interest of fairness, any western politician who attempts to force a settlement in the middle east is placing himself between a rock and a hard place.

There are irreconcilable differences between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. The land. Right of return. God.

The vast majority of Jews are not descendents of Abraham but of European descent. That was so even in Jesus’ day. Think of such people as Luke, Timothy, and Titus. They were mixed with what is called Europeans today. That has been known for decades as well as many Jews are mixed with Mongols. When you consider that most Jews are “non-religious,” there is no monolithic group called Jews. It is a little like trying to describe the race of Tiger Woods.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between Israel (or Israelites) and Jews. The term “Jew” grew from the tribe of Judah, which, apparently absorbing the tribe of Benjamin, retained the southern kingdom and the capital of Jerusalem after Solomon’s death.

The remaining 10 “lost” tribes” made up the northern kingdom of Israel, which was conquered by the Assyrians and scattered among the other captive nations until their heritage and national identity was abolished, absorbed by other cultures.

The Jews of Judah were also taken into captivity many years later by the Babylonians, but they retained their ethnic and cultural identity and were eventually allowed to return to the homeland, unlike the tribes of the northern kingdom.

The Jews are Israelites, but the 10 lost tribes of the northern kingdom were never Jews.
