Eight-term Rep. Mark Souder will announce his resignation Tuesday after it came to light that he was conducting an affair with a female staffer who worked in his district office, Fox News has learned.
Multiple senior House sources indicated that the extent of the affair would have landed Souder before the House Ethics Committee.
Elected as a family values conservative as part of the Republican revolution in 1994, Souder survived a tough re-election challenge in 2008 and survived a contested primary two weeks ago.

Well, he’s turning 60 this year, lost youth eager for being desired. He may have been handsome fifteen years ago.

“If this guy is resigning because of a scandal, why is Charlie Rangel, who is vastly more corrupt, with far bigger scandals, still sitting in the congress?”
Because black concressmen are impervious to laws.

Apparently, only Senator Vitter has possibly survived such sin. And he may not yet.
To: Theodore R.
Vitter was re-elected since his incident, wasn’t he? He’s just about the only one I can think of who didn’t resign and I was actually proud of him. Spitzer is the only Democrat I can think of who resigned.

agreed. but I think it would have been far less damaging(if possible) to have resigned before running a very intense campaign for the republican spot on the ballot. Kinda leaves a very bad taste in your mouth thinking about all the things he said about the other guy.

Friend of yours? Not in my area...
The Third District lies in northeast and north central Indiana and includes all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben and Whitley counties as well as the majority of Allen and Elkhart counties.

Come on Elsie, everyone knows that only female Republicans have evolved balls and a spine.
I left because I grew out of the pub party.

Absolutely. We just (most likely) draw the line as to where "lite" begins at a slightly different point.
My husband and I are Tea Partiers, eleni. We stopped giving to the RNC years ago, and give only to conservative Republican candidates. (In fact, my husband just had an 'animated' discussion on with a Republican solicitor last evening. He won. He always does. :) We donated to J.D. to get rid of McCain. We're the real thing on any conservative spectrum.
And I am glad to be agreeing with you. :)
